CSK20GABCAD Hotpoint Refrigerator - Instructions

Used (2) 2 x 4's as block and lever to raise door removed 2 screws and removed door used same socket to remove and replace door side of replacement part. replaced door. This is the second time I have replaced this part on frig. side. Very easy replacement.

I pulled all the items out of door, removed door top hinge cover, lifted the door off the hinge and removed the bottom hinge and closing cams and replaced them and re hung the door, just about that fast.

I was by myself so I took the entire Fridge door off. Took off the old hinge assembly and installed the new hinge assembly. The process took about 10 minutes and worked like a charm. Door closes like it did 15 years ago.

All I had to do what unscrew the old railing and screw in the new one. The only problem I had was lining up the hole in the railing with the hole in the fridge wall, then getting the screw into the hole - a bit tricky since the hole was recessed into the railing. But it was still quite easy.

First, I loosened the top hindge bolts about halfway. Then, I took the bolts out ofthe door and then took the door off. Next I took the bottom hindge off and put the new part on. Then, reassembled the door in reverse. However, I didn't tighten the hindges until I made sure to align the door to close properly.

The magnetic door strip will hold the door in place if the door shelves are unloaded.I removed the bottom hinge with the socket set and installed the new hinge.

Removed the broken ones with screwdriver.Easiest job ever!

Removed two screws from the top hinge, two from the bottom - replace and put back together. It took longer to remove the food from the door than it did to replace it. THANKS

Being as the part is plastic it has a limited life span. But the repair is very easy and anyone can do it. I just proped the door with 2x6's and 1x2's and bolted it in. If you get confused just look at the freezer side to see how it goes, they are the same. It's four bolts and some shims that need to go in the same locations. I'm real hap ... After watching your instruction video and not wanting to shut down refrigerator and remove foods from door, I elected to lift the door and place blocking under it.The actual hinge replacement took approximately 10 mins. First called GE parts and they sent me the wrong one. PartsSelect sent me the correct part the FIRST time and was very helpful.

Removed shelf and vegy bin removed two screws replaced slide rail with new one and replaced the two screws and shelf and vegy. Bin and I was done. Ten mim. Tops

Remoed bottom hinge and replaced broken cam riser. Replaced Bottom hinge.

1. Blocked up the door keep it steadily and enable ease access to screws.
2. Removed screws holding the door closing cam and lower door attach bracket.
3. Disconnected clamp holding the water supply line for the water and ice dispenser and disconnected the water line at the joint.
4. Removed the broken cam ... Read more and put the new one in it's place, threading the water supply line through the hole of the cam.
5. Put everything back together in reverse sequence of removal.
