CRE7600ADW Maytag Wall Oven - Instructions

First I turned OFF the elect power to the stove.
Then I got a flash light to see into the oven. removed the two screws, anf pulled the element out far enough to disconnect the two wires.
Put the connecters on the new element pushed it back put the two screws back.
Turned the power on works great, very easy.

Removed 2 screws, should have tripped breaker first but learned the hard way, unplug wires, install new.

Removed two screws and unpluged old element plugged in new element and re-attacheched to oven. No Problems at all.

Unscrewed two screws holding element in place and pulled off the electrical wires to the element.( be sure to remove power to the stove)Put wires on new element and installed screws back in. Done

Unplugged stove. Removed door. Unfastened 2 screws at rear of oven. Removed wires from bake element. Connected new bake element. Replaced screws and door. Plugged oven back in.

I ordered the part on Sunday night and it came on Wednesday. I watched the 'Partselect' video prior to doing the repair - the video got right to the repair and it gave me all the information (and confidence) I needed. It took me longer to clean the bottom of the oven than it did to make the actual repair. I can't imagine paying someone ... Read more to do such an easy job. I watched the video intructing the installation of the bake element. The one thing I would suggest is to remove the oven door as this allows someone with a shorter reach to do the repair.

#1...love the website where it helped us diagnose our problem. Also the video where it showed us exactly where and what to do. #2 we accessed the rear of range and unplugged. #3 Took back panel off of range to exposed wires and clips of heating bake element. #4- removed old element from the clips to find that one end was FRIED and FRAYE ... Like something burned through the clip. 5- We cut and stripped the end of the hot wire, re-attached the new clip to repaired wire. 6 - plugged her back in...turn the oven on to see that the NEw coil heated up wonderfully. BEST part of the story yet....I placed the order via internet on Monday at 3:45 pm. I paid for the standard shipping of $7.95 or 3-7 day delivery. On Tuesday AM....the very next day, I was WOKEN up by my doorbell at 8:05 AM....by the time I got to the door to see who it was...the FED EX truck was pulling out of my driveway. Shut off electricity to appliance then unpluged wiring from old element and pluged in new element.

After finding out my 2nd hand electric stove was not reaching the temperature I needed to bake my cookies I knew I had to either find out what was wrong & repair it or purhcase another stove. First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires attached to the element, reattached to new element and replaced screws. This was very easy, I was glad I did not call the repairman.

Pretty simple, except the element melted very close to one end, so the screw holding the element to the rear of the stove was partly melted also. Had to drill it out & used a nut & bolt to secure the new element.
Apart from that, it was a breeze. As others have done, I re-tightened the lugs that the element plugged into.

Turn power off, lifted door of swing hinge, remove convection fan plate screws, remove screws on element bracket, remove from recess far enough to unplug connectors, reverse order to assemble.
