CRE683 Maytag Range - Instructions

I took the broiler pan out of the shipping container and put it in the oven.

I ordered the new knobs, which arrived in a couple of days, pulled off the old ones and put on the new ones. Total time: less than one minute. I am very satisfied with the fast turn around time of this order. I would recommond this company.

I just pulled off the old knob and pushed on the new knob. My JENN-AIR Oven is 20 years old. The new knob is a different style and it doesn't fit snug against the oven. But it works and I can set the oven to Bake or Broil or clean and know I'm in the right place. I really like this oven and hope it will last another 20 years.

Turned off oven power.Removed oven heat shield, element support clips and element mounting plate screws. Disconnected three element power wires and ground wire. Removed old element. Reversed removal procedure for new element install. Piece of cake.

I just removed the lamp retainer plate and glass cover, inserted the new gasket, and screwed everything back in place. Simple as that. I was enormously pleased that the part arrived so quickly -- just in time for me to cook my Thanksgiving turkey and use the self-cleaning feature.

Replaced drip pan. Notch did not want to match the burner notch. Was a close fit bit with a little pressure made it work.

Repair went fine, insert helped, just take your time and remember the way you took out. Started without takeing door off, I am to short and door comes off easy, unscrew the two screws holding element leaving one not quite off then the back two screws then go back to upper screw remove and element will pull out, remove 3 wires remembering the order, Wiring is a little tricky (in the stove-just 3 plugins), just pay attention and will go smooth. Then remove element and go backwards and presto your done.

Turned off power at panel. Removed 2 Phillips screws holding broiler element support in place. Squirted 2 additional Phillips head screws attaching element to back of stove with WD-40 and removed screws. Slid element out to access electrical connection and used short phillips screwdriver to remove. Reattached electrical connection to new element with short screwdriver (no fun as you are cantilevered into the oven and have to hold the element, the screw and the screwdriver to do this). Slid element into support and screwed support to top of stove cavity to align element. Installed screws holding element onto back wall. Turned on power and ran element long enough to dissipate WD-40 fumes.

Grandson spent 1/2 hour installing unit and 15 minutes of that time was trying to get the very short grounded screw to begin to thread. It was a very small space to work in and it kept falling out. The instructions were a lot to be desired - almost nothing. He went to YouTube and got very explicit instructions. Then he had no problem as to what to do. The unit is working great now.

No problem Took off old ones and replaced with new.

Removed old drip bowls, removed burners installed new drip bowls,installed burners. They fit perfect and I received them two days after ordering.

Took the old ones out and put in the new ones! What I am so pleased about it that I just went online and at Parts Select website it was easy to find what I needed, a fair price and the 4 bowls arrived within 2 days!

Just took them out of the package removed the old ones and attached the new ones. I cut out a picture of the knob when the accident occurred, who would guess cleaning the knobs would erase the numbers, and taped the picture above the knob until the new ones arrived. thank you for keeping the old knobs in stock,

This repair was very simple.
First I UNPLUGGED the stove.
Then I removed the 6 screws on the top portion of the back panel.
Then I removed the knobs from the front of the stove.
Then I removed the 2 screws holding on the front glass covering the clock/timer.
I then drew a diagram of the wire colors and the corresponding numbers on the old timer block. Then I removed the 6 wires from the old timer.
I then pushed in on the 4 black holders that secure the clock/timer to the chassis. The clock/timer pushes out from the rear to the front.
Going back together, just push the new clock/timer into the hole until the holders snap in place.
I then found the corresponding numbers on the new clock/timer block and put on the respective wire colors.
I then put the front glass back on, then the knobs, then the back panel.
Plug it in and you are golden. It couldn't be easier. It took all of about 15 minutes.

Pulled the old one out and plugged the new one in. It was that simple!
