CDBEH600SW2A Frigidaire Dishwasher - Instructions

My husband and dad actually did the repair, but my husband not being a handy guy said it was, 'so easy, anyone could do it!' He was very nervous about taking on the project, the longest part was testing to make sure it worked(running a cycle).

Read more rest of the water that we couldn't see from above, following the video given took out the old part without needing to take out the motor and were able to replace the drain pump, put everything back together besides sliding it into place in case it didn't work, in less than 15 minutes! When the short cycle finished and the water had drained they put it back into place and ran an energy saver cycle and it worked like a charm! Since then(2 weeks ago) we have now ran every function and have had no issues! Every time we open the dishwasher we comment on how much we missed having a dishwasher! Haha!

First point of leakage was the door. Turns out that a gasket at the bottom of the door functions as a wave trap. As the bottom sprayer spins it sprays against the door and creates a small wave of water this gasket was starting to disintegrate, it was letting water surge over the small tray at the doors bottom. Easy to replace just pull do ... Read more wn and remove press fit on inside door bottom. Only when this was replaced did I find the real leak but not until I guessed at the tub seal as the leak. Very hard to see where the water really comes from! Turns out it was not the tub seal but a clip that holds the heater element got smashed down from a dropped dish rack at some earlier time and this caused the heat to increase at the clip and eventually heat the clip to extent it melted the tub directly under it. JB Weld to the rescue and we have a waterproof tub again. Well almost! The tub gasket resisted my best efforts to seat correctly and thus required a new tub gasket, still hard to seat but after 2-3 attempts we have a winner. Total cost about 50 bucks vs. 6-700 for a new unit. Wife is happy!!

Most of the time is spent cleaning out under the sink, turning off water valves, disconnecting hoses and collecting water. One valve did leak when closed. Then pull out the dishwasher from under the counter, unplug and lay flat on floor.

Wet gaskets and gently push pump in place be sure to line it up so bracket goes back in place. Tighten screws, put hoses back in place, push dishwasher back, connect hoses, open valves, check for leaks then run the dishwasher and check operation of pump. I recommend viewing replacement on part select youtube video to determine if you can make the repair.

Removed 6 torx headed screw (loosens the internal control panel) and 2 philips headed screws(allows for front door panel removal). 2 torx screws had to be removed from existing latch along with 2 plugs loosened, be aware of how the plugs were connected to the latch. The 6 torx screws reattach the control panel and the 2 philips screws reattach the front door panel (be sure the front door panel is properly aligned prior to installation of the philips screws).

I unclipped the plastic pieces at the front of the rack. This was very easy. Then I removed the old rack. I then removed the water sprayer from the old rack and placed it on the new rack. Ordered the parts, put into place and that was it...very easy...had to undo the upper rack spinner wash blade but was easy to remove and put back onto the new rack...

It was super simple. I popped the clips that were holding the old spray arm on and then popped the new one in place.

I read the instructions that others had posted and completed the repair in less than 5 minutes!

After moving the dishwasher out from the cabinetry, I removed the screws holding the pump in place. Pulling the pump from the formed plastic opening, I found a toothpick lodged in the pump housing. I went online to search for new parts. PartSelect was the second or third listing on the search page. I submitted the dishwasher model number and was taken to a set of parts illustrations. I was easily able to find the o-rings I needed.

Pulled old gasket off with small hook. Replaced new gasket by pressing in with my fingers.

Unplug dishwasher. Open the door. Remove two Phillips head screws holding the door panel on. Slide door panel down and out to remove. With door still open, remove the six T20 torque screws that hold the control panel. Behind the control is the latch assembly. Remove two T20 torque screws that hold the latch. Replace with new latch and reverse steps for installation.

I removed the access panel using a nut driver. One fastener on each side at the lower front panel. Move the two piece lower panel and set aside. Locate the broken spring. It will be on the floor under the dish washer. Remove the broken spring. Place the new spring end in the hole in the chord end and place the chord over the plastic ... Read more guide. Use a pliers to stretch the spring and fasten it to the hole in the lower dishwasher frame at the back of the dishwasher. Check the door for proper tension. Replace the lower panel and secure with the two screws. I recommend replacing both springs at the same time to insure proper balance. If you only replace one spring you will be replacing the other in the near future.

Took me about 2 minutes to repair, no tools to repair, very easy installation repair!
