I merely removed the old one and replaced the old one, I luckily had a ratcheting screw driver which made things go alot quicker as there were 36 screws holding the gasket on the inside of the door, also I had to replace some of the screws that I tightened as they stripped out in the door metal, I GOT SOME OF THE SAME DIMENTION with a sli ... This was the third icemaker replaced since January 1999. Improvement need to be made in the design of the icemaker so that more than 2-3 years of life is available.

Once this is done, take out one nut head screw, lift up on the icemaker and remove from the hanger. Be careful that you don't break the plastic tabs on the hangers. Replace new icemaker in reverse, feed water supply where it must go in the back, resnap onto hangers, replace the nut head screw and snap in the power plug. It took about 2 hours before the icemaker began making ice. It has been working fine ever since. PS. I saved about $200.00 over having a repairman come in and replace the unit.

Removed the 3 screws that hold the ice maker in place and remove the cover and level wire. Put the cover and wire on new part and install the 3 screws. Had ice within 1 hour. A very easy job for the do it yourselfer. Suspect the heat coil that melts the cubes was not working in the old unit and cubes stayed in the tray.

First I unplugged the refrigerator. Next item was the ice-maker; remove (3) screws and unplug it from the back wall. The whole job went smoothly,just the way others have described it. Unfortunatlly the water valve was not the problem. The problem was that ice had formed where the water enter's the tray . and therefore could not get into the ice forming area and just spilled into the refrigerator. Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. Very easy to order from parts select. Took seconds to replace.

Remove 1 screw under ice maker. Gently pull downwards to unhook ice maker. Disconnected 4 pin wire connector. Remove and set aside the cover and wire loop you will need on new ice maker. Removed freezer shelf. Shelf did not move to one side easily for removal. Removed fan cover (snaps in place), pulled off old fan and slid new fan blade onto shaft and installed clip.

Repair went well,took about five to ten minutes to disconnect the power from the fridge removed the defective switch installed the new one ,reconnected the power,,,and Let there be light and there was light!

I took the freezer door off. Gasket screws ran on the four side of the door. I unscrewed the top and three sides but the bottom screws were completely rusted and stuck. Spoke to Rep.Advised that several parts might be involved. Replaced 3 recommended parts and frig works like brand new. Saved hundreds of dollars in repairman costs.l. Plus $1000.00 for cost of new frig. If you can walk and chew gum at the same time? Easy fix. Very skilled Rep's!! Excellent service!! Great prices!! Highly recommend!!

Part received was what I needed. There was one issue--the 'feed' opening to receive water and direct it into the ice tray was a side feed and what I needed was a back feed. That means I had to do some exchanging of parts to make it work. That exercise took more time that the actual installation.

Once I identified the bit that would remove the screw, the rest of the repair took 5 minutes. I removed the screw and discarded the remains of the original but now broken shelf support. With the same screw I simply attached the new shelf support that I received from PartSelect.com. End of story.
