ATF2 Refrigerator - Instructions

First I removed the screw that held the housing in place. I then pulled the housing out about 3 inches and disconnected the wires.Put old housing next to new one and started stripping old housing and building new one.Reconnected the wires and screwed in place 15 min max

I just unscrewed the plate that locks in the light switch (screwdriver) and unplugged the old faulty part and plugged in the new switch, screwed the cover back on and I was done!

Easy!

And I am not Mr. Fix-it!

It was easy breezy!! I felt like an empowered woman that I did it myself. I simply removed the old shelf supports with a screwdrive and inserted a screw thru the new supports and screwed them in.

turn off water and unplug fridge. remove ice maker bottom mounting screw. just loosen the 2 top mounting screws. unplug wire harness from back of fridge. remove old icemaker from freezer compartment. once removed, salvage square endcover and reinstall on new maker. unfasten wire harness from old maker and reinsatll on new one. reinsert th ... Read more ermal wire in new ice maker holding bracket. remove second wiring bracket and reinstall on new maker to hold remaining wires (not mentioned on "how to-" video). remove old ice maker on/off bale and reinstall on new one. remount new maker to top mounting screws, reinsert harness plug into fridge. replace bottom screw,

The gasket is sandwiched between the main door and the shelf assembly.

What holds them together is 42 1/4in hex head self tapping screws that run along the edge (each one is finger tight).

I would highly recommend a power drill with a 1/4 hex socket to remove the screws. It makes things much faster. Be careful when ... Read more screwing the screws back in with the power drill(you only want them finger tight). If the screws are too tight,the gasket will bulge out in places.

At first the seal may feel weak. Keep the door closed for a couple of hours and the seal should improve.

By sliding athin screwdriver blade down the side of the old switch the expasion prong that hold the switch in place was compressed enough to allow the switch to come out easlily. Plugged in new swithc and snapped in place. Plugged the refrigerator back in and light has worked great sense!

First I removed the back cover then removed 3 nuts holding the motor. Next I removed the two wires. Next I attached new connectors to the wires and installed the new motor and everything worked perfect!

Service and shipping were fantastic! I would definitely use Partselect again!

I have replaced the circuit board, the condenser fan motor but the unit still will not feeze correctly. The bottom of the unit freezes but just barely cools the rest of the freezer and ice box. Have you got any other advice that might help. This is a side by side unit. What else could be the problem. It seems that the fan is not workin ... Ok, first off, I am a girl-with absolutely no 'fix it skills" whatsover. My husband had pointed out the problem to me the second time the fridge started to get warm. I ordered the part (wrong one first time), then reordered the correct part. I emptied the freezer, defrosted the coils, installed the part. Put back together-all of it too ... Used a screw driver to pull old switch. Pulled one wire at a time, only two wires. After wires instlled to new switch push new one back in place where the old one was.

Well folks I put up with an ice burg all summer when I really should have took the time to fix it. You know how it goes though. You get so busy you just put it off.

I came home one evening and wanted to make a drink to relax but that big glob of ice was there w ... Read more aiting for me. I took a crewdriver and beat it down so I could pull the catch basin out. Having looked it over for a minute I grabed a nut driver and took three of the screws out that held it in. I unpluged the wire and bingo it was out. Maybe five min. had elasped.
After taking the unit out I notice how the non stick surface was coming off of the tray and that explains the black pieces that were getting into my ice.
Getting the model number off the back of the fridge and writing it down I went to my trusty lap top and did a quick search for a ice maker for my Jenn Air refrigeraton and blamo...! Part Select came up and I put the part number in their search engine and bingo again there it was, my part.
One quick order and in three days it was right there by my door when I got home.
Now i'm so excited. I went into the house and didn't even chage out of my dress clothes. Within five minutes it was in. Now I just had to wait for the timer to do it's thing and sure enough, I awoke the next morning to a whole tray of beautiful ice cubes. Wow no more ice burgs.
The moral of my story is I spent so much time hacking out that glob of ice and for fifteen minutes of my time, I could have been siping on cold ones by the pool but now old man winter is pressing down on me and I guess a lesson learned was a lesson earned. Fix it!

1 screw remove assembly. Unplug cable harness and remove old cover and wire arm. Replace cover and wire arm and attach wire harness on assembly end. Re attach using screw removed in first step. Plug in wire harness. Making ice within 30 minutes.

After following the troubleshooting section of the web site. It seemed the problem with the fridge was the defrost system. Obvious clue was the evaporator coil for completely covered with ice. including the channel which leads to the main compartment. Hence no cooling the in fridge main compartment.
Test switch -good
Tested Heat ... Read more er - no continuity across heater element.
In the freezer compartment, I removed the wire rack. Took a little muscle to do, basically pushed hard to the right and that allowed the left side to come out of its holders, lifted left side up and out.

Removed back panel by removing four screws in each corner with screwdriver. Very tight, small socket wrench would work better.

Panel has two sets of wires connecting it to the freezer. Hold the tab and pull out firmly. Panel comes out, put it to the side.

Defrost coil if iced. Gently pull evaporator coil out, only a couple of inches, watch that the styrofoam holders are not frozed, because they could break.

while holding coil with one hand.
Slide off styrofoam holder on both sides.
then pull out wire that runs thru. Tape is holding wire in place, only lift one side of tape to remove wire.

then remove heater (glass tube) from coil by lifting up and off of clip.

Replace with new heater in reverse order. (test new heater before installing)

Replace back panel.

I simply removed the old switch using 2 small screwdrivers and the old switch case popped out. I then upluged the wires from the old switch and reversed the process. Didn't take longer than 5 minutes begining to end! Thank you for the great service! Duncan quaid
