AS27 - Instructions

Discovered ice door tab was broken. Ice door out of position.
Disassembled door dispenser, pretty easy, two torx screws on bottom, two on upper part of unit. Slid unit up slightly, it sets over two studs on the top. Unplugged wire connector, set aside unit. Found the part, ordered the part, received it next day, but only ordered the least expensive delivery method, since we are both in Florida it worked out well.
I did not know when I ordered this part I would get it this quickly. Because cold air was pouring out of the hole left by the removal of the ice door, I put wide painters tape over the hole on the inside of the freezer door. This greatly reduced the flow of cold air.
After I received the part, I clipped it in place and reassembled the unit, it did not work. The solenoid that moves the door just hummed like it was jammed. I took it back apart and realized that I did not get the bracket that moves the ice door reattached properly. After I made sure the bracket was properly attached, i reassembled the unit and it worked great. It actually took longer to type this description than it did to do the job.

I removed 3 screws that held face panel in place and unplugged and removed face panel. I removed one screw holding limit switch in place, unplugged switch and removed actuator pad and switch. Installed new limit switch and actuator pad. Repaced front panel and dispensor - now works like a new one.

The factory installed fill tube was formed and molded, hard plastic. Nothing like the replacement part or the one depicted in the install instructions.To remove it, I had to grip the exterior water tube module with a pair of Visegrip pliers, twist and pull as hard as possible, to expose a section of fill tube. I then had to cut through th ... Read more e tube with a hacksaw to remove the module and flange that secure it to the access hole. From the inside, I removed the ice maker and fan shield to expose the remaining section of fill tube. Using a section of copper pipe and a hammer, I was able to drive the tube through the back wall of the appliance. Fitting the new tube was easy. However, it is too short to reach the fill cup. I fashioned a section of the old tube to create an extension which I inserted in the new part. And, much to my surprise, it actually works!

I followed the instructions supplied by others on your site .They were right on. The repair was simple with the instructions. The service was absolutely superb. I ordered the part one morning.
The next morning Fed EX delivered the part to my door. I will use your site for parts from now on.

First removed the old water filter and replaced it with the filter bypass. Very simple and no tools needed

The actuator rubber pad had hardened over time so that it wouldn't allow the solenoid to retract and stop the flow. To fix: Turn off fuse to fridge. Removed the screws on fountain faceplate. It works fine now.

First I compared the old parts and new parts to see if I had ordered the right thing then I inserted the new stop into the door. Since the stop has a lip that needs to fit into the slot I the door, I used a hammer to push the part up so it would lock into the hole. Very Simple

The Ice maker unit had to be removed and the shaft had to also be removed, which required dis-assembling the motor drive. The thickness of the shaft and the bearing fill cup prevents it from simply pushing it in place. Other than that I have Ice.

Removed all 50 screws and replaced the seal. The door still comes open a tad but now it seals all the way. This was my first and last Maytag.

Removed the door assembly with 4 Torx screws, replaced the broken door with the new one. The assembly is spring closed, so had to be pivoted into place. Then the door didn't open when the ice button was pushed, but made a loud snapping noise. After removal again, it was determined that the solenoid was not attached properly to the arm. Af ... Watch out for the circuit board at the front of the assembly, it carries a pretty good bite!

Watched video. Unplugged refrigerator and popped out switch. In plugged connector and pushed switch in place. Plugged in refrigerator and the light worked

Believe it or not the two of us oldies put it up on the desk on CARDBOARD so we wouldn't scratch the desk (my husband wo ... Read more uldn't have thought of that - that's why God made man -a woman). I vacuumed everything I could see to clean which made it more bearable to breathe. Then we had to decide how to get the old fan off and the new one on. They don't make these things to repair. We actually took out more screws than we needed to but that's ok. There are 3 legs in there that needed to be unscrewed so we could pull out the heating coils enough to replace the fan. One of the 3 legs was difficult to maneuver because of the tight space so my husband and his brawn decided to cut a hole in the medal on the right side. He did it a little unconventionally but it still solved the problem of the 3rd screw without affecting anything else. We both had to pull on the heating coil to slip it up out of the bottom pan without breaking anything else but we managed. We got the old fan blade off and the new one on. Two heads are always better than one. We did it and it works with a savings of $650.00.
Your website saved us a heap of money. We have already started telling others about it.

Removed broken dairy door (no screws or any tools were used) and replaced with new one purchased from partselect. It took me less than a minute to do :) thanks!

Simply cut the water tube on both sides of connector and push in the new one.

No tool required! Pulled out tray, emptied ice into large bowl for reuse. Pushed in and pulled from inside the coil springed auger until could get old plastic ring off and put new one on. Useing care not to apply too much pressure to ice dispensing end so as not to break housing. Have to turn auger assembly at an angle to compress enough ... Read more and get old ring off.
