door and plug back in. Open door to check that the lite

real easy to install and it works fine. However, the problem was more complicated. The circuitry on the ice maker on the back side of where the gear that rotates the harvesting fingers had places that were not making contact. I took a dart, yes, a dart from my dartboard and pressed the copper contacts down so they made contact and all app ears to be well. Well at least until tomorrow. yikes.

Switch was not working after a repairman had fixed something else

Please bear in mind I am 65 years old & it was harder to get up & down off the floor then to change the switch. Was very easy - watched video, unplugged unit. I used the putty knife at the right front corner to work loose, when it came loose had to loose the left side a little. The unit pulled out easily. detached the wired that had a single plug with 2 prongs on it. Attached the plug, pushed new switch into place. There was no way you could place wires on wrong prong. When done, plugged refrigerator back in & checked if working. I CAN SEE THE LIGHT and the food in the freezer now. Thank you for making an easy repair.

I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.

Logged in to internet, for whatever reason I selected your site. Good choice! Entered the model number and selected the symtems identical to my refrig. Ordered the recommended parts, (Relay and Start Capacitor), to solve the problem. Reviewed the remove and install video. Received parts as promised by del date. Installed parts under 15 mi nutes, Frig kicked in and frig has been working beautiful. Avoided all those added expenses of; home service check, amount of days in- shop repair, plus parts and overhead charges. Will recommend site to my friends.

The bottom freezer and the fridge stopped cooling what seemed at a random time but was also after an electrical storm.
  • Cassondra from Dallas, GA
  • Really Easy

First off I had no idea how a fridge worked or where to begin and the troubleshooting section of the manual was a joke. So I took the back panel off made sure the coils underneath were clean. Took out the back panel of the freezer and made sure that nothing was frozen over and I hadn't seen excess water on the floor so ruled that out. I k new the condenser was still running so I took a shot in the dark. Ordered the part and waited for it to arrive. It took me 3 minutes to open the box and install it. Immediately knew it was working replaced the back panel and moved the fridge back.

This is an easy fix, simply remove and replace. What I was impressed with is that a how to video was provided along with my part. I wish all manufactures would offer this, the video was easy to understand and you had a good view of the operation. Thanks, a job well done.

Easy to replace part - remove panel at the bottom rear of the appliance, unplug from the compressor and connect the new relay. Unfortunately, it was not the relay on my appliance -- looks like the compressor has gone out -- new fridge for me
