First I removed the relay and over load and exam. Saw that the relay was burnt. After receiving the fan blade, I popped off the old one and put on the new one! The A/C unit worked like new once again!! It even blew colder air than before! The hardest part about the entire process was getting the13 year old fan blade off! I'd recommend your website to anyone looking for a part!

Removed 4 hex head screws around base of metal housing and 2 screws on bottom front holding on plastic grating and one screw holding housing to switch plate at top front. Hinged grating on back just pops off. Removed two screws holding fan motor on. Unclipped wire terminals (2). Bolted new fan in place.

One hitch was that o ... Read more ne of the little terminal connectors that came with this fan motor was too small, so I had to buy some the right size, and strip the wire and crimp one of those on.

Also, this fan motor is two-speed, and my old dehumidifier is one-speed, so, according to the very helpful instructions, I just taped off one of the wires (not the one I would have guessed--it has you replacing the red with the black and taping off the new red one).

Then reassembled in reverse order, of course.

The only other thing is just that this stinkin' thing was so expensive, but it works fine. It's been humming away for days now, and my basement is once again in the pocket, about 50 - 55% humidity.

And it was pretty easy.

After completely thawing the frozen dehumidifier, I knew the chiller still worked but realized the blower fan did not spin. I ordered a replacement part from PartSelect.com. It arrived in 2 days. With unit unplugged, I removed set knob at the top of the front of the unit, removed two screws at bottom and removed the front grill face ex ... Read more posing the fan assembly. Next, I unplugged the two fan wires from their connections, removed 4 screws holding fan in place and removed old fan assembly. I then removed the fan blade assembly from old motor by loosing the compression screw and after a thorough cleaning of the fan blades, re-installed it on the new fan motor. The new fan assembly was re-installed with the 4 screws. The fan electrical connections were re-connected. (Note: only the Black and White wires were used as per the original assembly. The Orange wire was left unconnected but bundled with other wires and secured with a tie-wrap.) Dehumidifier was powered up and tested before front grill face was replaced. Mission Complete!

The compressor immediately started when I plugged the refrigerator back in. Around 24 hours later the freezer compartment was at 0 degrees, and the refrigerator was at 35 degrees.

I vacuumed everything I could see to clean which made it more bearable to breathe. Then we had to decide how to get the old fan off and the new one on. They don't make these things to repair. We actually took out more screws than we needed to but that's ok. There are 3 legs in there that needed to be unscrewed so we could pull out the heating coils enough to replace the fan. One of the 3 legs was difficult to maneuver because of the tight space so my husband and his brawn decided to cut a hole in the medal on the right side. He did it a little unconventionally but it still solved the problem of the 3rd screw without affecting anything else. We both had to pull on the heating coil to slip it up out of the bottom pan without breaking anything else but we managed. We got the old fan blade off and the new one on. Two heads are always better than one. We did it and it works with a savings of $650.00.

Determined that compressor was not running, after researching problem on another site they recommended i try the condenser moor fan or motor, the defrost thermostat or defrost timer. . I removed the old humidistat and replaced it with the new one which was an exact fit.

Pulled airconditioner out of Housing. Removed screws holding plastic cover in place. Loosened lock ring. Removed old fan blades and replaced with new fan blades. Reassembled plastic cover and returned air conditioner to housing. The unit is now quieter than before!

Checked compressor with amp meter, and found it was not running, found Overload Switch bad.
When removing old switch watch carefully which lug you move wires from, so you will know which
lug to put the new switch on.

ELECTRICITY!!

Disconnect power. Remove back panel on the refrigerator. Relay and overload is a modular unit attached to the compressor. Disconnect module from compressor, install new unit. While you're in there clean the condenser coils with a vacuum and clean the fan and condensate pan. Reassemble, and you're chillin. Total time approx. 15 min.

Followed the directions. Installation was quick. Took loner to put the covers back on and push the applicance back in position than the repair.

The unit should cutoff when the pan gets full enough for it to depress the pan full switch on the back of the unit. Used an ohm-meter to check and see that this switch was bad.
