ADE20L1H Admiral Dryer - Instructions

Easy repair and I am not the handyman type. Unplug the unit. Lift the top. Remove 2 wires from temperature sensor and remove single screw to lift out the plate the sensor is mounted to(Easier to change the sensor out this way). Remove 2 wires from heating element and then remove single screw. Lift out heating element and replace with new one. Screw back in and reattach 2 wires. Remove 2 screws on the plate for the temeperature sensor and replace with the new sensor. Once 2 screws are back in the plate holding the sensor, screw back in with single screw and attach 2 wires. I called a tech and they wanted $125 just to look at the unit. When I read other reviews of how easy this repair was, I thought it was worth a try. Definitely saved us a bunch of money and time.

Checked the voltage to the high limit switch. Found that the element was bad. Ordered the part from partselect.com. and received the part in two days. Unplugged the unit, pulled the lid on the dryer, used the 5/16" nutdriver, removed 3 or 4 screws, pulled out the old and installed the new. Saved a $100.00 service call from the repair man! Novice in home improvement can do this. Thank you Partselect!!!

I took apart the dryer by unscrewing the top and the front, front comes off by just undoing the two top screws on the inside. I figured it was something to do with the rollers since the noise was ciclycal. The hardest part was to put the drive belt back on. It helps to have a second person for about 5 minutes.

I tilted the unit back enough to scew the new legs into the threaded holes.

The repair was much easier than anticipated. Next time I could do it in less than 30 minuites.

Replaced the axel that holds the rollers as well as the rollers. Just rotate the left one 90 degrees and it slides out.

Probably what took the most time was puting the belt back on. It is old so I was being careful. It took a couple of trys to keep it on the rollers as I moved the drum into position. So easy I am convinced to buy another Maytag.

Wife was impressed so that's worth something!

First let me say that the video provided was wonderful, I followed the instructions on the video, & it worked great, no problems at all. Saved me from paying huge costs from a repairman.

After using a voltage meter I tracked it to the thermal fuse. In order to get to the fuse you have to remove the heating element. However when I replaced the heating element I didn't check to make sure that the heating wires weren't touching the metal housing it sits in. So when I turned on the dryer I burned out the element and had to purchase another one so a simple repair became much more expensive. Since the thermal fuse is what blew initially I made sure to clean out the vent from the lint trap all the way to the outside vent. It was pretty dirty and probably caused the unit to get too hot and blow the fuse.

first pryed up the dryer top, pulled the two wires for the door switch and removed front panel. remove 8 or 10 blower housing cover 1/4" screws. removed blower moter shaft snap ring pulled out damaged blower wheel. slid on the new wheel with the flats on the shaft and new wheel alighned up. installed blower clamp around blower stub. installed motor shaft snap ring. reinstalled blower cover cover. installed front dryer cover to include installing door switch wiring. put down top and pushed dryer back into place making sure to install the blower vent hose. started dryer to test operation. all worked well the first time.

Tilt dryer top. Inspect damaged part(s). In my case it was the high-limit thermostat; but since the dryer is old, I ordered the heating element kit. The thermostat is included. Disconnect wires from thermostat and remove. Disconnect wires from element and remove. Carefully install new element and reconnect wires. Same for thermostat. Dryer works fine. Also, delivery time was one day. Thank you Partselect.

Unplugged the dryer. Released the two forward sping clips holding the top in place and hinged it open. Removed the two 1/4" screws(one on each upper edge of front panel). Disconnected the door switch. Pulled out and up to remove the front panel. Located the cycling thermostat on the blower housing. Disconnected the thermostat wires, removed the (2) 1/4" screws. Installed the new thermostat and assembled in reverse order.

the same way it was described on your site, this dryer is nearly 17 years old, I've needed to change this at least 5 times.

Had to lift the top with a screw driver. Unplugged dryer. Removed 4 different wires from heating element. Unscrewed with socket wrench screws that are small becareful not to drop. Replaced with new heating element and there you go. I had to reset at my fuse box as well. I was overjoyed that I didn't have to go buy a new dryer so close to the Holidays!! Hopefully it will work for another 10 years. Thanks!!

Remove front panel of dyer, pry open with srew driver,be careful not damage enamel. Remove drive belt, pull drum forward and out. Drum glide are located at bottom of drum rest,rollers at rear of dyer.

MY SON Chris unpluged the dryer.than opened the top of the dryer and used a screw driver to unscrew the thermo cuppler and moved it over so he could get to the heating element .he than used a screw driver to take out the screws holding on the old heating element and than he put on the new one.he than put all the screws back in the thermo coupler and closed down the top of the dryer. he than pluged the dryer back up and turned on the dryer .it took about 1 hour to do it all. and i'm proud to say it works wonderfully.

Purchased a new blower wheel from you and installed.
