Read more led humidistat. The new one was put in place, the two wires were reattached. The knob was replaced. The top was positioned and its two retaining screws replaced. A magnetic phillips screwdriver was handy but not necessary. Piece of cake! Someone with ten thumbs could do it!! Thanks for the prompt courteous attention to the returned erroneous part! Removed 4 hex head screws around base of metal housing and 2 screws on bottom front holding on plastic grating and one screw holding housing to switch plate at top front. Hinged grating on back just pops off. Removed two screws holding fan motor on. Unclipped wire terminals (2). Bolted new fan in place.

One hitch was that o ... Read more ne of the little terminal connectors that came with this fan motor was too small, so I had to buy some the right size, and strip the wire and crimp one of those on.

Also, this fan motor is two-speed, and my old dehumidifier is one-speed, so, according to the very helpful instructions, I just taped off one of the wires (not the one I would have guessed--it has you replacing the red with the black and taping off the new red one).

Then reassembled in reverse order, of course.

The only other thing is just that this stinkin' thing was so expensive, but it works fine. It's been humming away for days now, and my basement is once again in the pocket, about 50 - 55% humidity.

And it was pretty easy.

Taking the case apart and replacing the control unit was a piece of cake. And the part arrived the very day after I ordered it.

After completely thawing the frozen dehumidifier, I knew the chiller still worked but realized the blower fan did not spin. I ordered a replacement part from PartSelect.com. It arrived in 2 days. With unit unplugged, I removed set knob at the top of the front of the unit, removed two screws at bottom and removed the front grill face ex ... Read more posing the fan assembly. Next, I unplugged the two fan wires from their connections, removed 4 screws holding fan in place and removed old fan assembly. I then removed the fan blade assembly from old motor by loosing the compression screw and after a thorough cleaning of the fan blades, re-installed it on the new fan motor. The new fan assembly was re-installed with the 4 screws. The fan electrical connections were re-connected. (Note: only the Black and White wires were used as per the original assembly. The Orange wire was left unconnected but bundled with other wires and secured with a tie-wrap.) Dehumidifier was powered up and tested before front grill face was replaced. Mission Complete!

The compressor immediately started when I plugged the refrigerator back in. Around 24 hours later the freezer compartment was at 0 degrees, and the refrigerator was at 35 degrees.

Determined that compressor was not running, after researching problem on another site they recommended i try the condenser moor fan or motor, the defrost thermostat or defrost timer. . replaced a piece of the plastic at the top of the bucket that seems to be the water gauge. this seems to be fixed. we are very happy

I removed the old humidistat and replaced it with the new one which was an exact fit.

Checked compressor with amp meter, and found it was not running, found Overload Switch bad.
When removing old switch watch carefully which lug you move wires from, so you will know which
lug to put the new switch on.

Disconnect power. Remove back panel on the refrigerator. Relay and overload is a modular unit attached to the compressor. Disconnect module from compressor, install new unit. While you're in there clean the condenser coils with a vacuum and clean the fan and condensate pan. Reassemble, and you're chillin. Total time approx. 15 min.

pried off the plastic fastener with flat blade screw driver set new float in place then pressed plastic fastener back in place

First....you need a metric nut driver...not a standard...this took me five trips to four stores to find. So if you have this model number don't think it is merely a screwdriver and a Phillips. After that the job was simple but the humidistat did not fix my dehumidifier. It was worth the $38 try ...but sadly off to buy a new one...

The switch housing was not exactly the same for easy snap in. I removed the actual switch and installed it into the old housing. Then I found that the male pins were larger than the old ones. I chose to clip off the female connectores, strip the wires, and solder the wires to the pins on the switch. It was easier for me than attempting to ... Read more change the push on connectors. For me, the actual switch was what I wanted and I fixed it my way. It was easy to do however some folks may want to change the push on connectors. Works great and saved me hundreds of dollars. Followed the directions. Installation was quick. Took loner to put the covers back on and push the applicance back in position than the repair.
