Dear PartSelect:

I am very impressed by your service and company. My order arrived in less than 24 hours. It was a perfect match and is currently in service. I am very satisfied with the entire experience and will use your company again.

I simply opened up the cooktop with a screwdriver and disconnected the wire s to the affected burner. After the part arrived, I reconnected them. I had to swap over two brackets from the old burner, so don't throw it away until the new one arrives. It went back together very easily and worked immediately.

Locate breaker box and turn off breaker to stove. Removed the two screw in front that hold the top in place. Raised the top and supported it with the box the new burner came in. Removed two screws that held the burner in place and the 5 wires one at a time an installed them on the new burner. Put new burner in place and installed two mounting screws. Reinstalled the two screws in the front to hold the top in place then turned the breaker back on and tested burner. Worked great. Received part in 2 days.

Turned off power to oven. Lifted off the oven door. Removed four 1/4 " bolts from outside of fan housing. Removed two 1/4" bolts holding element. Removed element from three clips holding it to upper oven surface. Unplugged two element wires. Reassembly was the reverse. I am an auto mechanic by trade and this was a fairly simple process.

uneven heating of oven

This repair was super easy. I removed the two screws holding the oven sensor in place, pulled the sensor from the oven wall to expose the two wires attached to the sensor cut and spliced in the new sensor as per instructions. The supplied wiring kit made this splice very easy. I then reinserted the wires and sensor from the oven wall, put the screws back in place tested the oven. Oven now works like new and I got bonus points from a happy wife!

Burned out broiler element

After getting the part from PartSelect, which only took 2 days to get here and was in great condition and matched perfectly. I went to the customers house, shut off the power to the oven, removed the 2 screws holding in the element, pulled the element out and removed the leads. Took the new element and put the leads on the contacts, pus hed the wires and leads back into the hole and screwed in the 2 screws. Went outside and turned the breaker back on, went and turned the oven on to broil, waited a few seconds and it heated up perfectly, and the customer was real happy. She said it was great that she could bake again. Thank you guys for sending the right part in a timely manner and good condition, it keeps my customers happy and keeps me in business. Joe

Broiler stopped working. Wouldn't toast my toast.

I thought because the broiler was off that I could remove the element with not problem. As I was pulling the element out, it sparked, melting something in the back I couldn't see at the time. I immediately went to the breaker box and turned the power to the oven off. After I found the website online I was very gratified to see how easy it was to identify the element I needed and order it. I removed the old element. One of the wires from the element slipped through the hole in the back of the oven. To get at it I had to unscrew the four screws around the outside edge of the oven and pull the whole oven out. I had a table handy that I pulled up next to the oven and set it on without disconnecting the main wiring. After getting the oven out I removed the six or so screws on the coverplate and easily found the loose wire. I pushed the wire back through the hole in the back of the oven and made sure it would not fall back into the hole. I put the back plate on with all its screws; pushed the oven back into its hole and screwed the four screws in around the edge that hold the oven in. Then I attatched the broiler element to the spade connectors and screwed it back in place. I turned the breaker switch back on and tested it. It works.

Raised cooktop......took 8 screws from trim plate and cook surface off.....removed 4 more screws off switch mount bracket, removed 2 screws from switch and mount bracket ( switch now free) ...pulled off wires and connectors one at a time, and put the wire on corresponding new switch location.... Took a total of 30 minutes.... Cleaned c ooktop surface too! Cautions...don't tighten ANY screw too tight, as stripping will occur.

Broiler element would not heat
  • George from Fairport, NY
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

After turning off power, I removed the two screws and pulled the element and wires out, removed the wires and then attached them to the new element and replaced the screws. However, this did NOT correct the problem. The broiler did not work until I tried several times turning it on and off. It then worked once but then did not. It worke d once more after several tries. I then called a repairman suspecting the control board. He confirmed this and tested the old element which was in good working order after all. A new board has been ordered.

Oven broiler stopped working. Had to replace the broiler element.

Just like the other responses described with two additional steps: 1) with a convection oven you have to remove the fan cover. It has four screws, the same size as the broiler element screws....but, get a piece of stiff cardboard the same width as the oven; put it all the way back, under the fan cover. There are holes in the oven bott om and your screws really want to roll into those holes and disappear; the cardboard will cover the holes. 2) as soon as you disconnect the element from the electrical wires....put a twist tie or other clamp on each wire as they want to fall back in behind the oven and you'll end up having to remove the build oven to get at the wires. The twist tie should keep them from falling out of reach.

broken switch

This was a wall mounted oven. Turned off breaker. Pulled panel off by removing 6 screws. Pulled connectors off old switch. Removed old switch. Just a friction fit. I used my jack knife to get it moving. Pushed in the new switch and connected wires. (just push on tabs) Put panel back together and turned on breaker. Done, easy.
