8889 Jenn-Air Cooktop - Instructions

Pulled out the old burner and plugged in the new!

I removed the old heating element, then the drip pan and then the adaptor ring. I cleaned the residue and buildup that was under the ring and on the surface below, I then snapped in to place the adaptor ring and then oriented and placed the drip bowl in place and finally oriented and pushed the heater element leads into their socket.

I turned the heating dial on and immediately felt the element warming up.

Checked Low temp and then Hi temp.
Everything is working and looking fine. The wife wants to replace the other ones, she says that it's easier than cleaning them.

Ordering and installing was easy. The hardest part was getting the exact match to 20 yr. old appliance knobs. First one I ordered had wrong shaft hole, but it matched perfectly in design. Decided to reorder and just replace all four with matching new-style knobs and the correct shaft hole. Yeah. Looks great and REALLY easy to install.

Removed the old adapter and replaced it with the bright and shiny new one that fit perfectly.

I removed the old element. I then plugged the new element in place. Simple repair, no tools required. Turned the cooktop element on to test for proper functioning. It heated properly. Repair completed.
Ordering the part was easy and it arrived within 2 days. Very happy with Parts Select service.

Replaced the drip pans

No brain surgery required. Removed electric burner, put in new drip pans. Voila! Good for many more years of service looking like new.

Ordered new cartridges

1. Remove the exhaust vent cover, located in the center of the top of the range. It just lifts off.
2. Swivel the clamp 90 degrees to release the filter.
3. Remove the filter and throw it away
4. Place new filter in place and lock in place by rotating the swivel clamp back 90 degress.
5. Replace the exhaust vent cover

Removed old element, plugged in new one, tested ok

All I had to do was remove the old burner and push the new burner into place. It couldn't have been easier.

used the supplied parts...very easy. The parts were exact replacements.

Knobs sent fit the shafts, but due to molded internal stop wouldn't seat. Had to drill out the stop, and also file down the shafts a bit for knobs to seat acceptably closer to stove-top.

removed motor, saw that stablizers were broke and went to a local parts supply shop called SUNDBERG and was given a price of about 49.00 for three stablizers. at that point i went to the internet and found PARTSELECT.COM were i found the same parts for a fraction of the price,17.00, i could not believe it!
