8336 - Instructions

I removed the ice tub. Removed the screw on the left side that holds closed the section where the icemaker plug is connected. Disconnected the plug. Then removed the bottom right screw. I was then able to remove the Icemaker by unhooking it from the bcak freeze wall. I disconnected the icemaker from the fan gaurd. Removed the icemaker co ... Read more ver. unscrewed the 3 icemaker screws and opened up the chamber. removed the old Ejector Blade Drive Cam by removing the outer srew that hold the gear to the icemaker. changed the cam with the new one and reassembled everything.

i did every thing according to instructionwhich was simple but it did not cover how to use the extension electrical plug-in and where to put the extra cord so the tray would go back in

I ordered the replacement from you guys, got the new ice maker and the plug had an adapter, but it wouldnt fit in with everything. So I cut the plug off my old ice maker and put it on the new one and it works just fine.

A friend had no problem getting the new ice maker in. But then the problems started. The ice maker works great. But when the water fills the ice maker it squirts water onto the side of the freezer and ice sickles form. So we watched and decided the hole was too large so used a piece of plastic. The only other thing we can think to try is to use epoxy to try to close that place. A simple job has turned into a big headache. I wish they made the ice maker like the original one.

REplaced old icemaker with a new one. Install simple, However that was not the problem. I then replaced the water valve. Still no ice. I check the electric connection was OK. THe problem was the elbow fitting on the top back of the refrigerater leading to the icemaker was blocked with ice.Cleared it and turned water faucet up all the way. ... Read more Ice maker worked.

The instruction video was great, mine was easy than even the video showed it to be. I changed it out in less than 15 minutes and it works great. The niocve things I didn't have to wait for a repairman or my husband to fix the problem.

Watched video on website then removed old ice maker. New one went in without any problems. Working great. I am a 60 year old woman and had never done anything like this but so easy. Husband scared now, doesn't know what project I will take on next.

The video on the site was very helpful. The repair was really easy. It was exactly the way the video showed how to do it. I would definitely use this site again to find parts, figure out the "how-to", and use for skematics of appliances. Thanks.

turn off water. turn off electricity. empty freezer section of frozen food. remove ice bucket. loosen two screws holding IM to wall of refrigerator. lift off icemaker, and then unplug it as you remove it. INSTALL new IM by: putting new water funnel onto new IM. attaching adapter cord to IM. plug in IM electrical cord to refrigerato ... Read more r and then hang the new IM onto the two loosened screws on the refrig wall. Now tighten the two screws. the extra adapter electrical cord hangs below the new IM, but does not get in the way when you reinstall old ice bucket. reload food, turn on elec and water. PS. i had a crack in the casing of the new IM, so i got a new one, but that one was cracked too. so i just installed the second cracked one. hope it is not a problem.

I had to defrost the freezer to free the icemaker. After that the installation was plug and play with two small exceptions: 1) I had to file down the width of the left hand tine of the old stripper so that it would fit the new icemaker, and 2) the motor housing of the new icemaker was slightly wider than the old one. Installing the actual ice maker was quite easy. What takes most of the time is preparing the freezer for the install. Need to remove all shelving, (and the door) to gain access to the unit. The ice maker is simple to install once access is achieved. Putting everything back together takes some time.

Your online instructions were easy to understand and follow. I replaced the outlet valve which took about 20 min. Then I had to dissasemble and remove icemaker to de-ice inlet tube and back wall of frezzer to defrost cooling fins. All to gether it took me about 1hr / 40 min. Frezzer now works just like new. Move unit out to access rear. Unplug unit. Shut off water supply. Remove lower cover with phillips screwdriver. Remove valve and both water lines. Install water lines back into new valve and install valve back into position. Turn on water supply and check for leaks. Install cover. Plug unit back into wall. Let icemaker produce some cubes ... I monitored the ice maker after it stopped working and noticed it was not filling with water. I loosened the water feed hose to the single valve outlet and the water feed was fine. However, the single valve outlet never activated to turn on the water feed. I disconnected the waterfeed and electrical connection from the single valve outlet ... Read more and removed it. Replaced it with the new one, reconnected the water feed valve and electrical connection....allowed the ice maker to cycle and it started filling the ice maker with water right away.
