Microwave would not heat anything and turntable no longer turned.

I decided the door switch was the problem because 2 problems happened at the same time. I removed the 4 screws for the top outside cover and the 1 screw that held the control board. After removing the control board screw, I lifted it up and removed it. This gave me access to the 3 door switches. I then removed the 2 screws that held t he plastic piece that holds the switches. This made it easier then to replace the switches.

I unplugged the microwave. I did watch a YouTube video to see how the plastic frame around the door could be removed. I used a putty knife to pry it off. The spring was still in good shape, so I hooked it up to the new latch/locker part and onto the microwave. This was just a little time consuming because I was trying to be careful so I wouldn't break anything on the new part. The plastic frame clicked right back on. I plugged the microwave in and it worked right away. If I can do it, you can do it. Sure beat buying a new microwave. Great experience.

Microwave not heating, everything else works

Not knowing which of the switches to replace I ordered all three in the assembly. Replacing the full assembly was easy, first unplug the microwave. Then remove the top cover to access the screws that hold the control panel in place and let the control panel hang. There are two screws that hold the assembly in place - remove those. I u sed needle nose pliers to pull the wires off of the switches and immediately put the wires on to the new assembly so there was no confusion on what wire went where. Place the assembly back in position, replace the two screws to hold it in, put control panel in place and secure screws. Replace top cover and plug in.

Unplugged the microwave. I opened the door. I used a butter knife to pop the bezel off the inside of the door. I pushed the locker up and to the left and used the butter knife to pry it loose. Disconnected the locker from the spring, and reversed for the installation.

food does not get hot, carousel did not turn, all other indicators worked

  • John from SEVERN, MD
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins

Read the troubleshooting section on this site. Figured it was an interlock problem because the food was not getting hot (magentron not turning on) and the carousel was not turning. Did not think both the carousel motor and magnetron failed at same time, thus indicated an interlock problem. The interlock switches are actuated by the door latch. Replaced the assembly locker piece with all three switches (only a $20 dollar part) and microwave was fully operational again. Wife and kids think I am a hero.

Removed the MW from the wall. Took the top screws off the air vent. Then removed the two screws holding on the display. I then moved the display to its side and it revealed the micro switches. I removed the plug in leads from the micro switch one at a time. I did this with all three micro switches only one at a time. I reinstalled everyth ing and plugged it in. No more fans starting when the door is opened.

Open the microwave door.
On the interior of the door, there is a plastic molding around the locks and most outer part of the door. Pop that with a flathead screwdriver or butter knife. You’ll immediately see two screw heads. Screw counterclockwise to release the fragments of the old handle. DO NOT THROW THOSE SCREWS AWAY. Reattach ne w handle using the same screws. Pop the piece of plastic molding back in and you’re done.

Microwave door would not shut completely and would not activate switches

  • Timothy from DELAND, FL
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins

After checking all three switches for continuity I determined that the plastic door lever had warped or gone out of wack. After shutting off power at the breaker box I removed the door, the inside trim piece around the inside of the glass. Removed the black two prong door lever, reattached the new door lever and then reinstalled the trim piece and all screws. Works fine now. Easy fix just make sure your switches are all ok then replace the door lever.

Used plastic putty knife to separate inside door plastic molding from metal door frame. Small section at a time starting from latch area. Worked the knife around door to separate plastic molding. Leave plastic intact near door hinges. Carefully separate out of the way the molding, and access Phillip screws with long screw driver. Rep lace handle and screw tight the screws. Push into place the plastic molding with your fingers until it clips back into place. The end.

I went to LG website enter model number and was given a list of parts that need to be replaced with a percentage of which part fails the most. I order micro switch PS3522738 which arrived and PS3529293 was backordered. I installed the one that arrived. The microwave worked briefly. I reordered and waited for both switches to arrive and in stalled both. The microwave still doesn't work.

Followed owners manual instructions to the letter: removed two top screws, opened the unit door so I could slide out the old filter. We don’t cook much at all in the unit, mostly just heating coffee and reheating leftovers. BUT! The top grill was pretty greasy and needed hot soapy water to clean, including in the depths of the top area. T he whole process, especially the company website for part ID and purchase, was slick!
