72053 (ASTCSC3) LG Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed 4 screws then removed ice maker unit. Unplugged the old unit. Checked and verified the inlet tube was clean and not blocked. Plugged in the new unit. Placed unit into proper location and verified it was properly in place. Replaced the 4screws. Turned on the unit closed the ice door and it started making ice maybe an hour later by ... I installed the new 3 wire ice maker very easily, but it was defective. I was told that instructions for the return of the defective part would be sent later due to the virus. I have never received the return instruction.
I did receive a credit for the defective part. VERY Satisfied with y’all’s service.

Some have said that the installation took 5 minutes. Mine took less than that, and I did it with one hand. I had a beer in my other hand.

Un-wrapped the basket......Installed with NO tools......

Removed the old one and replaced with the new.

Thanks to videos on You-Tube which showed step by step removal and replacement. It was a simple process. only thing missing on the video was information on the green ground wire.

I just popped out the broken bin and slid the new one into the slots on the door.

The fix was easy. I appreciate the expert advice on which part to purchase, as that was difficult to figure out. I received a prompt response to my question and the replacement part came quickly.

Opened the box. Removed wrapping. Washed the new part. Unloaded old basket. Removed old basket. Set in new basket. Loaded new basket. Closed the door. Even an 80 year old can do it!

Slid the replacement shelves into place.

The repair was an easy replacement. The problem was the LG part was no longer available from LG or any of the other places I tried. The PartSelect customer service representative was a true professional and did an outstanding job of helping find the correct part (LG's diagram was unreadable) and cross-referenced it to find the the part th ... I ordered the needed parts, the correct ones I thought, but when they arrived, I realized they were the wrong parts shipped to me. The reason the wrong parts were shipped to me was because PartsSelect failed to advise me there were none of the parts I needed available so they shipped the left hand basket assembly, door, versus the desire ... Read more d right hand basket assembly, door. I then had to return the wrong parts shipped to me, at my cost of ~$25, and await a refund for the wrong parts originally shipped to me. That's how I did the repair.

I replaced the whole self-contained unit. I removed the old ice bin simply by lifting it out of the door and replacing it with a new one directly under the ice maker. It was a simple fix; no tools or service tech were required.

Removed old part very easily and installed the new part without any problems. Used and adjustable wrench and screwdriver

Removed ice dispenser and display with small screwdriver from front of the fridge. Pried out the whole piece slowly. This exposed the motor that activates the chute. Plugged in the new motor before any removal to verify the motor was the problem. When it worked, removed old and installed new. 3 screws. Piece of cake.

removed old lever ( 2 screws ) took apart electrical connection, replaced lever, connected electrical hookup, put in screws. DONE !!!!!!
