Ice maker quit working, I took it apart and found a broken wire at the thermostat, soldered it back, but apparently it got too hot.

It took longer to remove the ice bucket and frozen food than it did to replace the ice maker. Remove one screw with a 1/4" nut driver, slide outward and remove plug. transfer water tube to new unit. plug it in, slide into rear slots and install one screw. Loosened 2 screws unplugged cable. Plugged in cable adapter on new unit. Plugged in to receptical, hung on 2 screws, tightened 2 screws. Done

I took out all the stuff on the shelf, and the drawers. then I took out the shelf, pulled off the cover so I could get at the screws. I unscrewed 2 screws, threw out the old part, and screwed the new one into the shelf. then I put the whole thing back together, in total the hardest part was cleaning off the shelves and then

I removed the ice tub. Removed the screw on the left side that holds closed the section where the icemaker plug is connected. Disconnected the plug. Then removed the bottom right screw. I was then able to remove the Icemaker by unhooking it from the bcak freeze wall. I disconnected the icemaker from the fan gaurd. Removed the icemaker co
... Read morever. unscrewed the 3 icemaker screws and opened up the chamber. removed the old Ejector Blade Drive Cam by removing the outer srew that hold the gear to the icemaker. changed the cam with the new one and reassembled everything.

Order the ends both left and right and stuck the front from the old shelf onto the new left and right sides and stuck it back on the door. No problem. Thanks!!!!
This was very easy. Just unscrew the broken side pieces and attach the new ones. If the rubber gaskets are still in good shape, gently pull them off and attach them to the new rails. Used the nutdriver to loosen two screws, life out ice maker, disconnect electric plug and put aside. Placed the new icemaker on the loosened screws, plugged in electric connector and tightened screws. Remove bottom glass shelf, lift up -then remove entire drawer slide assembly.Remove plastic decorative front cover(it just snaps off) and unscrew left side drawer slide screws.replace with new part and screw in screws. The parts were here the next day. After removing the old ice maker it was a simple installation using the adapter cord furnished. It took about 15 minutes. You have to work with the cord some to get it to fit behind the ice maker, but it does fit. The ice maker started up immediately & works great.

It was as easy as the instructions were clear (and they were). Remove 2 screws and two nuts, pop out the old ice maker, pop in the new, plug in and tighten screws/bolts. It worked. I'm happy.
