363870 Kenmore - Instructions

I am more than 80 yrs, always thought I could fix just about everything--but, this looked complicated. Once I received the new icemaker; took a good look where the screw-holes, etc. were, then removed the "old" one. Took about 20 or 30 minutes, then the "new" one was easily installed.

Seemed simple and intuitive B U T the water tube receiver fooled me. Seemed to be on backwards. So, like my wife suggested, I D I D then read the installation instructions. Yeah! It's amazing what you can do when you just RTI. :-0

The adapter made the cord a bit long but other than that it was great!!!

Wathched the video and it was done in less than 15 min making ice again no problem

Popped off the old gears with a screw driver. Put on the new gears with a screwdriver. Problem fixed in less than 5 minutes.

Took old part out , put new part in. Was so easy thought we did it wrong. Ice maker working great, have lots of ice now. Thank you. Colleen

i watched the free video and then made the switch my ice screw had 4 bolts instead of three that was the only difference used the screw driver to loosen the straps on the connection plug and that was it easy as pie in about 30 minutes i heard it drop a load of ice it beats filling ice trays all the time thank you partselect for the free v ... Removed the faulty ice maker in about two min.. New unit was installed in approx. five min. Watched your video prior to installation and it helped greatly.

Piece of cake and now I get loads of ice.

I'm a housewife in her late 40's. Before ordering the part, I watched your video on how to remove and install the new icemaker. First I unplugged the refrigerator. After a few minutes, I unplugged the icemaker and unscrewed it. I lifted it a bit and removed it. I did not use the icecup that comes with the part. Instead I removed the o ... Read more ne from the old part and inserted it to the new one. Then I plugged in the new icemaker, placed it inside so as to match the holes and screwed it in. YES, it was that simple. It took me less than 10 minutes to do this. I saved myself over $100!!

I just put the Ice Bucket under the Ice Maker.Problem solved.

I ordered a new micro switch that was activated by the high ice lever. Once the switch was replaced the ice maker cut off as it should have and stopped producing too much ice. YHis job was of moderate skill level, the most challenging was replacing a spring that popped out then reassembling the unit.

Took out the old, replaced with the new. Needed second person to hold the flash light. That is the secret to get it plugged in and secured.

I read the step by step instructions that came with the part. I turned two screws and disconnected the electrical harness and Removed the icemaker. Two other parts from the old icemaker were easily removed without any tools and put on the new icemaker. The new icemaker was put in the same way the old one came out. I reconnected the el ... Read more ectrical harness and tightened the old screws. The hardest part of the whole job was reading the directions. They were easy to follow if you take the time to Just read them!

The video on the GE site was great. Showed step by step instructions on how to remove the old ice maker and install the new one. Also helpful was the detail on the water chute which needed to be moved from the old ice make to the new one. Saved hundreds of dollars by not having to have a repairman do this work for me.
