The ice maker needed replacing for a couple of years. Then, a couple of weeks ago, the water supply stopped serving both the ice maker, and the drink dispenser.

I ordered both a new replacement ice maker, and a new solenoid/pump. They were delivered to my house within one day and I had them installed in a matter of an hour. I had to use the power extension cord supplied with the ice maker.
The new "quick connect" hose couplings on the new pump are great.

We can't seem to get the dripping water stopped when the water fills the ice maker. The large hole in the plastic we covered, but it still drips some. So we may try epoxy. An easy job we thought, but we have this water problem.

A friend had no problem getting the new ice maker in. But then the problems started. The ice maker works great. But when the water fills the ice maker it squirts water onto the side of the freezer and ice sickles form. So we watched and decided the hole was too large so used a piece of plastic. That helped to cover the hole. But some wate

r is still entering the freezer and not all going to the ice maker. The only other thing we can think to try is to use epoxy to try to close that place. A simple job has turned into a big headache. I wish they made the ice maker like the original one.

It took longer to remove the ice bucket and frozen food than it did to replace the ice maker. Remove one screw with a 1/4" nut driver, slide outward and remove plug. transfer water tube to new unit. plug it in, slide into rear slots and install one screw. Replace ice bucket and frozen food, shut the door and hear ice falling in about 30

I took out all the stuff on the shelf, and the drawers.
then I took out the shelf, pulled off the cover so I could get at the screws.
I unscrewed 2 screws, threw out the old part, and screwed the new one into the shelf.
then I put the whole thing back together, in total the hardest part was cleaning off the shelves and then ... Read more putting everything back in.
As a note, there was a gasket on the old rail that was not on this one. I had some silicone tabs that I used instead, but I really think the gasket should have been part of the order.

This was very easy. Just unscrew the broken side pieces and attach the new ones. If the rubber gaskets are still in good shape, gently pull them off and attach them to the new rails. I was very impressed with the service from Partselect.com. I gave them my appliance model number and they helped me find the right part. I ordered on Su

Removed the broken rail (2 screws), replaced the new rail (2 screws), reassembled all in about 8 minutes. It was AWESOME!!! I had spent hours trying to repair it and, fortunately, gave up and decided to look online for the part. Didn't even think that the part would still be available. Not only was it available but it arrived in 2 days
