36360242000 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed the back cover of freezer to acess the coil. Turned the timer to defrost and checked the voltage across the heater. Didn't have any. Stayed on the common side of heater and measured on both sides of thermostat and one side didn't have any voltage. Shorted the thermostat wires together and heater started working.

I took out the vegetable bins and slid in the part. Replaced vegetable bins. Works perfect. I was told locally that GE doesn't make the part any more and that I wouldn't be able to find one. First place I looked on the net was you and found it with no trouble at all. really thrilled to get it. Thanks

Replacing the new part wasn't hard, just very time consuming and frustrating. I had to remove two-thirds of the shelving of refrigerator as broken drawer slide was on the bottom and I had to have room to remove old and replace new. I watched videos of the modern refrigerators and figured out how to do my model by taking my time watching as many videos that pertain to my refrigerator I finally I expose the evaporator I noticed that the defrost heater was buckled up and totally disintegrated and slowly took my time looking at the screws I took it out and I didn't have ... disassemble bottom of the freezer to replace the part, you definitely had to have common sense and to be mechanically inclined to do this repair otherwise it was easy

Unplugged the refrigerator then used the cordless drill to remove the 6 screws on the access panel on the back of the fridge to be able to get to the fan. Was able to pull the fan off by hand and push the new fan on by hand. Plugged the refrigerator by in and watched the fan run for a few minutes then replaced the access panel. Really qui ... I didn’t do the repair because I ordered two grommets. When they arrived, one of the packages was empty! Instead of just sending me another one, they refunded the part so I still need one. By the way, I was not refunded half the shipping either which was more than the part itself.

Separately (from a different site) purchased new compressor fan and motor. I purchased the grommets here because the other site listed the grommets as temporarily out of stock. Removed the two screws holding the fan motor into place. Removed motor and blade. Reinstalled with new fan blade, new grommet and new motor.

Ordered part came in 3 days. Removed plug and rear cover. Pulled off old fan . Installed new fan by pushing it on to shaft. Plugged unit back in to check operation, installed rear cover. Done. Part fit perfect. Thanks to this site you folks are great !

The bottom shelf of my Mom's fridge broke. I found the part I needed and went to repair it. Realized both sides were broken. Ordered other side as well. Two screws in front, two screws in back. Front side had a metal strip covering screws. Had to pull that off to get to screws. Snapped back on after repair.

I had one of my guy friends do it for me. It took him less than 10 minutes, and probably would have been quicker if he had a better screw driver. Mine is a cheap girly one that he could not get a good grip on.

Removed the broken rail (2 screws), replaced the new rail (2 screws), reassembled all in about 8 minutes. It was AWESOME!!! The entire frame that holds the two crisper drawers pulls right out. After that, it's just a matter of unscrewing the broken part, snapping in and screwing the new part and sliding the whole thing back in.

Remove bottom glass shelf, lift up -then remove entire drawer slide assembly.Remove plastic decorative front cover(it just snaps off) and unscrew left side drawer slide screws.replace with new part and screw in screws. I found a replacement evaporator fan motor and 2 mounting bracket grommets at PartSelect.com at a reasonable price. I watched the installation video provided and installed the new parts as shown in the video start to finish installation time 22 minutes.i
