Tenant breaks Oven glass on outer door
5 of 8 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Thomas from Columbia, TN
  • Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
On each side of the door at the top you will find an allen screw, remove those to remove the cover plate. This will prevent the new glass from sitting flush with the door, if not removed. On the inside of the door, you will find two more silver hex screws, these release the glass frame. On the flimsy part that seperates from the main door frame, there are two small brackets that hold the glass panel at the bottom of the door. Carefully pry out all the ramaining glass shards, and believe me they are there, so be very careful and vacuum up immediately to prevent cuts later. The glass frame will be very wobbly, so position yourself in front and place one knee up to support the frame and place the new glass panel in the bottom slot first, then just hold it up, and reinstall the top brackets. These fit tightly on the glass, so expect to have to push a bit. Now reinstall the screws, fold both parts together, use the silver screws to reconnect the glass panel assembly to the door frame. My oven door handle never had to come off.

oven would not heat
5 of 8 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Jim from Williamsburg, VA
  • Easy
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Nutdriver, Pliers, Screw drivers
I removed the 4 hex head screws holding the control panel , then the other 4 slotted screws. Disconnected all wires being careful to keep track of the color coding. Had a little trouble with the adhesive holding the face plate( I don't know why they even used it). Put the new panel in and reconnected it. Re set circuit breaker and tried t he oven. It still wouldn't heat. it wasn't the control panel, but a burned out wire connecting the element in the back of the oven. Well, anyway I learned how to do the job and the the new panel activates better, so all was not lost.

Pulled stove out and unplugged. At the rear of the range there were 4 faster. Used a nutdriver piece in an electric drill. Pulled off the cover and located the switch. At the front of the stove, I removed the knob and unscrewed two screws releasing the switch. I undid and replaced each wire connector one-by-one to avoid any wrong connecti ons. Replaced and secured the switch and replace the back panel. All secured, power on and fixed! Easy repair, but something that had been put off for a year!

  • Roger from HUNTSVILLE, AL
  • Very Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
Talked to parts select tech after ordering the control board. Tech advised me that he felt the range could be repaired without installing any parts. Advised me to contact manufacture tech support and explain the problem. I did to find that the child safety lock was on, probably from cleaning and touching too many buttons at once while whi pping surface. Told me to hold down + and - at the same time for three seconds and it was fixed.
Parts select tech had told me don’t worry the parts are guaranteed so I called for a RMA and returned the parts for a refund. Thanks Parts Select, y’all are real professionals and that is greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.

Pull the range out from the wall to access the rear of the unit. Turn off power to the range by unplugging from the wall or turning off the breaker.
Remove the large back cover from the oven portion of the range. Locate the two small wires and connector which is located between the two connections for the broiler heating element. Unp lug the small connector.
Open the oven door and remove the screw that holds the temperature sensor in place between the broiler heating elements on the inside of the oven. Gently pull the sensor and the wire connector through the hole and discard.
Feed the new connector and wire through the hole from the inside of the oven. Attach the sensor to the oven wall with the screw.
Go to the back of the unit and make sure that no insulation has gotten into the oven space. Re-route the new wire being careful not to let it touch the contacts for the broiler heating element. Reconnect the wires to the connector and replace the back cover of the oven.
Plug in the range or turn on the circuit breaker. Slide the range back into place and re-level the unit. Test the oven to make sure the temperature is accurate and will maintain temperature.

Remove drawer by pulling out and lifting up so drawer will slide out of range. Use 1/4 inch Nutdriver or socket - remove the screw that holds the drawer support to the body of the range. Remove support and install new one with screw Pay attention to the way the support fits. There are two holes one for the screw and the other for the plas tic prong on the bottom of the support. The prong fits in the bottom hole and the screw in the above hole.
