1478 - Instructions

Easy Repair. Remove the storage draw under the oven. It lifts out. Lift oven door off of hinges. Remove 3 screws & unhook the spring. Reverse the procedure with the new hinge. Good as new.

turn off the power at the breaker first

remove the 2 screws under the 'lip' of the stove top (open the oven door to get to them)

prop up the stove top on the cardboard box the part came in

pull off the wires one by one and attach to the new burner OR record where each wire goes first

remove the ... Read more old burner (2 screws) and attach the new burner

screw down the stove top

try the burner - when it does not work flip the power breaker back on and then try again

bask in the joy, admiration and wonder directed your way by various family members

After reading the other DIY's directions, we explored how to remove oven door. When the part came in, my sister who was visiting, removed the oven door (30seconds), removed bottom drawer (30 seconds), noted where spring was attached, took off screws and spring, installed new hinge with roller, took a minute to decide if the new hinge cam ... Read more e through the back or the front (front), she reattached the spring and screws. Put door back on and then struggles to put the drawer back into place. Total time less than 5 mintues, most time spent on returning bottom drawer to its home. Thanks part select for helping me not burn my self every time I try and get food out of the oven!!! I open the oven door all the way and am so delighted!!

The part arrived on timed and fit perfect. The repaired took 1/2 hour and everything works perfect. My wife thinks I am the best

I simply opened up the cooktop with a screwdriver and disconnected the wire ... Read more s to the affected burner. After the part arrived, I reconnected them. I had to swap over two brackets from the old burner, so don't throw it away until the new one arrives. It went back together very easily and worked immediately.

I really can't add much more to the very good instructions already posted. You will need a flashlight to see the spring -- when connected it stands vertical with one end connected to the hinge. There are 3 holes you can connect to -- I used the middle one, #2. The other end of the spring is anchored to a hole/slot in the stove frame. ... Read more It is very easy to position this spring. Be careful though, there's a lot of sharp sheet metal in there. You will need a phillips head screwdriver to remove/install 3 sheet metal screws that fasten the hinge to the stove.

Locate breaker box and turn off breaker to stove. Removed the two screw in front that hold the top in place. Raised the top and supported it with the box the new burner came in. Removed two screws that held the burner in place and the 5 wires one at a time an installed them on the new burner. Put new burner in place and installed two ... Read more mounting screws. Reinstalled the two screws in the front to hold the top in place then turned the breaker back on and tested burner. Worked great. Received part in 2 days.

Pulled the three screws off unhooked the spring then removed the hinge. attached the the new hinge to the spring put the screws back in slid door back on took less than 15 minutes.

The left door hinge was broken. There are three screws that hold the hinge. It is very easy to take it out and put the replacement in

I removed the door by pulling it up (according to the instructions). Than took a philips screwdriver and
removed the three screws in each hinge, unhooked the springs
and slid the old hinges out of the slots.
The new hinges slid into the slots perfectly so the screws

Real simple.

Pulled oven door up and off. Removed old hinge and installed new hinge. Replaced oven door. It was a very simple job. The whole project took less than 15 minutes.

Slid door off hinges. Removed 3 screws which hold hinge in place. Removed drawer to access spring for hinge. Gasped at all the crumbs and crap which had collected underneath the drawer. Cleaned up crumbs+crap from floor. Disconnected spring from hinge and removed old hinge completely. Installed new hinge with 3 screws. Attached spr ... Read more ing to hinge - center hole fitting. Slid drawer back in place. Angled hinges outward in order to re-install door. Slid door back onto hinges. Door now operates nice and smoothly. Job well done.

Removed the oven door. Released spring on hinge. Removed 3 screws. Removed broken hinge and replaced new hinge reversing these steps.
