Frig would go warm occasionally

I removed the screw that held the control module in place, then unscrewed & unplugged the circuit board and plugged the new one in. At that point I realized that the mounting bosses on the new piece were a quarter inch longer than the old one and the screws were now too short. The old bosses couldn't be adapted without wrecking them. Luck ily I found screws out in the garage that worked. The screws that came with the new piece were the same as the old ones. Also they were packed loose with the circuit board and one was stuck between the protective cover and the pins. Thankfully it fell out on its own before I plugged the refrigerator in.

We decided to use our crisper drawers to store sodas. Duh..bad plan. The rail that holds the drawers up cracked in half. So we just had the drawers sitting on the bottom of the fridge. So, I got the new rail THE DAY AFTER I ORDER IT! I just recycled the old one, and slid the new one in. Presto. Perfect fit. Actually, better then perfect. There must have been a defect with my old one, because the new one actually SNAPPED into place, instead if just sitting in the frame. So..I am really pleased.

Followed instructions supplied. It was relatively easy and the parts fit exactly right. Sears wanted twice as much for the part and service would have charged me another $100 to come to my home. I saved over $100 doing the project myself.

Water In Bottom Of Refrigerator

Basically, I read all of the remarks from other people that had the same problem , I replaced both the timer and thr defrost(bi metal) thermostat as the thermostat had a ohmic value when closed that I was not comfortable with. The unit is now up and running and defrosting as it's supposed to do. I could not get those pushdown clips that hold the timer unit , I ended up breaking them off at the plastic post but there was enough of the plastic post showing that a bit of hotmelt glue was able to hold the timer secure.

its not that hard to replace. may need help to tilt fridge on one side so you can get to the bottom to remove wheel.Had to undo all four corner screws/bolts to loosen bottom section and slowly pull out base frame which holds the 4 wheels. this frame is also holding the compressor and fan so be careful.replace wheel and slowly put frame ba ck to position and screw back bolts. pull back fridge to upright position. leave unplugged for a day or two to allow gas to come back to normal level as we had tilted it.plug it back and it works.
thanks

I took the cover off the control settings and found the timer. Removed two screws and replaced the defective one with the new one. Had to pay attention to directions since the timer is used in different ways and to make sure the loose wire was installed correctly (not the same way as the original ground was connected).

I bought a new Whirlpool Refrigerator that didn't have an ice maker.
I wanted to install an ice maker. I searched your web site and found the model ice maker model it said I needed. WPW10715709. This one was a 4 wire 8 terminal. I needed a 4 wire flat connector. WPW10715708. You approved the return. It cost me $50 to return it. I bel ieve you should refund me the cost of this postage. Your web site gave me the wrong model number.

Thank you

Freezer compartment iced over, food thawing,

I deenergized the refigerator, removed the storage tray, three screws that hold the ice maker, two screws that hold the lower portion of the freezer, two screws tjhat hold the back portion of the freezer. Removed the ice maker and disconnected the wire connector and ground, Removed lower portion of the freezer which allowed the back porti on to be lifted out. Once the back was out the bimetal defrost thermostat was located in the upper right corner clipped to a copper line. Using an ohm meter, I found the bimetal defrost thermostat to be electrically open, ordered part from information found on part, Once part arrived I deenergized the refrigerator and replaced bimetal thermostat by cutting the old thermostat wires (pink and brown), stripping the wires back about 5/8 inch and wire nutting the replacement parts like colored wires, clipped the bimetal part on the copper tube, replaced the covers in reverse order, and reenergized the refrigerator. Testing and replacing the part took about 15 minutes, waiting for the ice build up to thaw took considerably longer.
