Dog chewes up the original part. Got the replacement , put it on the filter turned to lock in place and tried tp pull out old filter ( same procedure has been done multiple times successfully) part broke instantly upon putting pressure tom pull out filter. Sent back to you the next day for replacement.

The hardest part was getting the front cover plate off. I used two kitchen knifes one in each slot on the bottom of the plate and pried it off and unplug it. I removed one screw to release arm. removed the clip that the motor was attached too put the new motor back on reinstalled the clip back on the fridge plugged the wire harness in and works perfect now . it was easier to remove the clip than to try to install the motor by itself its just to tight and you cant get in there

Replaced 8 cube ice maker assembly. Contrary to instructions I 1st removed 2 screws on the flapper door 2 removed 3 screws in bottom and 1 screw on right side bottom and pulled shelf out unplugged plug and lifted assembly off put new one on shelf plugged it in and slid it back into place replaceing. screws. was done in 10 min. start to f ... Emiter blinking red; ice maker stopped working. Called appliance repair, said electronic control boards needed to be replaced. Quoted me $275, including parts. Taped plastic cover to get it out of the way with duct tape - removed three screws on each side - removed retaining screw for each module - carefully disengaged module using small flat head screw driver being sure to release the plastic retainer and then reverse the process. Be sure new modules snap into place.

It was easy, I followed the instructions on the paper and it went well.

Well I changed out the optical boards which I thought were the problem and the ice maker is still not making any ice. I can see the ice makers fingers rotating but there is no water entering through the tube. I jumped the water manifold in the back and water comes out but I cant figure out what is not telling it to run water and fill the ... Read more ice tray. I took a 1/4 nut driver and removed the wire cover. I then used a small screwdriver to push up the clips the lock the unit in place. I then unplugged the unit and removed. I then used the same nut driver and removed the bottom plastic cover and installed it on the new icemaker. I then put the new unit part way back onto it slides, being c ... Read more arful to make sure the water fill spout clears the unit. Next I plugged in the wire harness and then slid the unit the rest of the way in until it locked in place. I then reinstalled the wire cover.
This unit was delivered at 1:30 and it was installed by 2

First I installed a defrost timer, (the old timer had burnt out contacts in it) It seemed to work for a few days, then went back to not comng out of defrost cycle, I then installed a defrost thermostat. It seems to be working better than before. I found out that maybe I wasn't running it cold enough. So I turned it up colder. Now it ... Read more works ok for 2 - 3 days, then I check the Temp in the freezer and its up to 6o. So I manually reset the timer and it works for 2 - 3 days. Don't know what to do now to fix it.

Approximately:

1. Unplugged refrigerator.
2. Emptied Freezer.
3. Removed Ice Maker.
4. Waited a few hours for ice to melt around back panel & nuts.
5. Removed back panel and the cover over fan and fan motor.
6. Waited many more hours for ice to thaw over fins, wiring, etc.
7. Easily replaced the bi ... Read more -mental defrost thermostat.
8. Replaced panel, fan cover, ice maker.
9. Plugged in refrigerator and waited a bit.

This worked! Yahoo.
