Walbro Engine Repair Kit

This is a repair kit for small, two-stroke engine carburetors. This repair kit is from the original equipment manufacturer that includes everything you need to repair a carburetor, such as the reed valves, needle lever, diaphragm air filter screen, pins, needles, gaskets, circlips, and washers necessary to clean, repair and reinstall the carburetor within your equipment. If you notice poor performance from your engine, the carburetor can be at fault due to its importance within the engine. A carburetor that is filled with contaminated fuel, gunk, worn-out components, clogs, or leaks can cause serious engine issues like difficulty starting the engine, fuel leaks, excessive exhaust emissions, and generally poor performance. To repair your carburetor, you will need a screwdriver and needle pick to disassemble and replace the components within your carburetor.

Walbro Engine Gasket Diaphragm Kit
1. Using diagonal cutters, I cut a very sharply angled end on the small line.
2. I generously lubricated the new line and the hole in the tank. I then took angled end of the new line and inserted it into the hole. Using a screwing type motion , I slowly worked it into the tank, using generous amounts of lubricant, until the line was far enough into the tank to grab from the fill hole with needle nose pliers. I then pulled and twisted until the line came out of the top of the tank.
3. I cut the angled end square at this point. I then inserted the filter into the larger tubing the cut about an inch longer than the filter Barb.I then lubed the larger line and the smaller line and pulled the line back into the tank from the bottom until the filter laid flat on the bottom of the tank.
4. At this point, I cut the end of the small line so that about an inch protruded from the bottom of the tank. I then re-lubed that line and inserted into a well lubricated length of larger line of sufficient length to reach the inlet on the carb.
About the carb: the donor of the machine had apparently attempted a rebuild. While it was very clean, he assembled it incorrectly. The metering diaphragm was pinched and he left off two of the four screws which held it together. I disassembled it, and using the correct parts assembled in the correct order, (there are parts for multiple applications included in the kit), mounted it back to the machine, and after about six or eight pulls, it roared to life. I did not get into the jets etc, because they seemed to work. This Walbro carb only has one inlet and no purge bulb, and after adjusting the carb it starts on the third pull every time using the choke as it was designed to. Read more...

Fuel line deterioration and carb overhaul
The machine was offered for free on FB marketplace. The person tried a rebuild of the carb, but could not figure out how to connect the fuel line, which feeds from the tank above the carb. I couldn’t either, so I went to a local parts dealer, who could not find a diameter the same size (it’s tiny). I assumed there may have been a fitting in the tank, but if so, it was absent. The only parts that were found in the tank: a large filter in a 3/4”piece of larger tubing and this tiny fuel line was inserted into the other end. The resulting arrangement was long enough to reach the hole in the tank.Since the machine looked spectacularly clean, I used these parts to make it run.1. Walbro Engine Primer Bulb

Genuine Walbro replacement part, this item is sold individually. By pressing the bulb, it will purge the carburetor of air. Fuel will be forced up from the fuel tank through the fuel line then into the carburetor. Then the excess fuel will be forced back into the fuel tank through the fuel return line. Walbro Engine Diaphragm Assembly

This authentic OEM metering diaphragm assembly is housed within the carburetor of your lawn and garden equipment. Positioned between the carburetor body and the fuel pump, it regulates fuel delivery and maintains the air-fuel ratio within the engine. It has a self-adjusting vacuum system and responds to the amount of fuel being drawn into the engine. When the engine runs at higher speeds, more fuel is pulled in and the diaphragm compresses. As a result, the pin in the center of the diaphragm pushes against the metering level and lifts the regulator inlet needle, letting additional fuel flow from the pump into the reservoir. If the assembly malfunctions, you may experience engine stalling, rough idling, or notice fuel odor, pooling, or dripping around the carburetor area. To remove the metering diaphragm, refer to your user guide for instructions on locating and accessing the carburetor. This typically involves removing the fuel pump cover screw and pump cover, followed by the fuel pump diaphragm and gasket. Remember to blow through the external pulse hole on the body casting and remove the filter screen before proceeding to remove the four screws securing the metering diaphragm plate and the metering diaphragm itself. Please note that this replacement part is sold individually.

Walbro Engine Primer Bulb

This is a rubber primer bulb with a plastic adapter attachment that is used on a variety of lawn and garden equipment models. This bulb attaches to the carburetor and is used to pump gasoline from the fuel tank into the gas chamber of the carburetor. Over time and through regular use, the primer bulb will lose its elasticity and may crack, requiring it to be replaced. To replace your primer bulb, you simply need to locate the bulb on your machine, unscrew the housing and remove the bulb, and secure the new one. Damaged check valve
Removed the carburetor, removed the fuel pump sprayed the part with silicone and tapped part into seat. Reassembled, adjusted and started the saw ran fine.
