Bought motor, then bought blower wheel also
couldn't get blower wheel off of the motor. really tight. rounded off the wheel's square hub while trying to hold it still as I turned the motor shaft out. No, I wasn't turning it the wrong way :) I ended up going to the back of the dryer and using the multimax to quickly cut the wheel away from the hub. I love that oscillating saw! Just for fun, I put the motor in a bench vise and got the wheel hub off (in pieces). VERY tight! Ordered new wheel, and the job was smooth sailing from there on. I am guessing that experienced repair people automatically order the motor and blower wheel at the same time(?) BTW both parts were perfect matches for the originals. Not surprised; this has always been my experience with partselect.com! Read more...

Blower fan cracked
Unplug the power cord from the unit. Remove the lower front panel; then the upper front panel including the door (unplug wire to door switch). Then remove the cover on the fan housing. Need to block the motor from turning; I used a stick to jamb the front of the motor; then unscrew the old blower fan and screw on the new one. Then replace the cover and put front panels back on. PartSelect Number PS12745419
Manufacturer Part Number W11414552
The convection fan motor is an essential component for maintaining even heat distribution in your oven. By circulating hot air throughout the oven cavity, this fan ensures that food is cooked uniformly, eliminating hot spots and reducing cooking times. Over time, the fan motor can wear out or malfunction, leading to uneven heating or longer cooking times. If this happens, replacing the motor is necessary to restore proper convection functionality. This genuine OEM part fits several models and includes the necessary components for installation. Before starting, ensure the oven is unplugged or the house circuit breaker is turned off for safety. Always verify compatibility with your oven model before purchasing.

F97 on right side of double wall oven
My less than 2 year double wall oven was showing a F97 on the right hand side of display screen on my oven, indicating to me it was a lower cooling fan issue. Purchased the parts after a lot of research (and a GE technician telling me over the phone it would be a 600 or more costly repair). I decided to bite the bullet and just do it myself to save money! I’m glad I did! I built a table for it to rest on after it got it out of the wall as it’s a heavy oven. I asked my dad to help me get it out and onto the stand. After that, it was a matter of getting to the lower fan through the back abs having to remove some panels. All went well and best part is this fixed it! I figure even if it goes out again in 2 years it’s still cheaper than paying a technician to do it! I’m a woman with zero background in repair but lots of determination and desire to save money! Just do it yourself! Read more...

Blower Fan quit working
It took a while to remove approx 30 screws to get to the blower. So my oven was sitting, torn apart while I waited on the new blower fan that I had ordered. It arrived shortly, about 5 days. When I opened the box I saw that PARTSELECT had sent me a drain pump instead of the blower fan that I had ordered. Since an oven does not require a drain pump and it wouldn't work to replace my broken blower fan I had to return it. I was told that I needed to send the part back in order to get a refund. After I sent their drain pump back at a cost of $13 they emailed me and said I didn't need to send the drain pump back. And they refunded me minus shipping So I had to pay shipping both ways for a part that was wrong. And I ordered it from someone else. I put the new blower fan that I had bought from another company in and replaced the 30 screws. And the oven has been working fine ever since. Thank you PARTSELECT for allowing me to tell people how you operate. They have a money back guarantee, but they don't give you back ALL your money. Thanks Again. Read more...

replacing the fan on a convection oven (fan was making a vibration noise)
This was the first time replacing the fan. It is a lot easier to work in the oven compartment with the oven door removed, only two screws on the door and the hinges were released. I found that a couple of the screws were either rusted or stripped so I used a pair of pliers to remove the screws that were holding the diffuser in place. Once there was access to the fan I found that the fan was warped and that the blades were scraping against the back wall of the oven. The next challenge was to remove the retaining nut. I used a sheet metal screw to secure the warped fan to keep it from spinning. once I figured out that you have to turn the retaining nut to the right to loosen, it came off easily. 1/2" socket with extension. When I replace the fan I used two washers for spacers to make sure that the fan would not scrape the wall of the oven. Its been tested many times and the oven does not make that horrible sound anymore. Read more...
