Panasonic DIODE

PartSelect Number PS12584264
Manufacturer Part Number W11256462
This diode, or high voltage diode, is used in microwaves. It is an electrical current control device that ensures power flows in one direction and not the other way. If your microwave produces no heat, heats inconsistently, or gets noisy, replacing this part can be the solution. The tools needed for this replacement are a nutdriver, pliers, and screwdrivers. First remove the microwave cover, then remove the old part by disconnecting the small thermostat. Replace with the new diode. Remember to use the diagram provided by the manufacturer for more instructions.

no heat
this problem started two months ago when my micro quit heating up, after all the research most agreed it was the magnetron. taking the micowave apart is not to difficult just make sure you bag all the screws accordingly. the high voltage area is on the right hand side behind a panel. caution there is a capacitor that will bite if your not careful, need to short the circuit between the two connectors with an insulated screw driver it will make a small pop or let it sit for awhile and it will discharge by itself. The magnetron worked for two days then quit, after more research i took it apart again and tightened up all the connections. Worked great on the bench but when i got it back up on the cabinet two dayslater kaput again. so again i take it down and replaced the two cheapest parts in the high voltage system, magnetron thermst fix, and h.v diode. benched tested it this time for 3 days cooking anything that i could think of, worked great. its been one week now afer installtion and it is still working. PartSelect Number PS3522838
Manufacturer Part Number 4026W2A019A
The locker, or door latch assembly fits to the inside of the microwave door, and keeps the door closed. If the door on your microwave oven doesn’t appear to close properly, you may have a problem with the door latch assembly. This locker is made of plastic and measures 7 inches long x 2 inches wide. If either of the hooks is broken or does not have any spring tension, you may need to replace the assembly.

The over the stove microwave door would not close.
I unplugged the microwave. I did watch a YouTube video to see how the plastic frame around the door could be removed. I used a putty knife to pry it off. The spring was still in good shape, so I hooked it up to the new latch/locker part and onto the microwave. This was just a little time consuming because I was trying to be careful so I wouldn't break anything on the new part. The plastic frame clicked right back on. I plugged the microwave in and it worked right away. If I can do it, you can do it. Sure beat buying a new microwave. Great experience. Read more...

Panasonic SWITCH,MICRO
★★★★★

1 Review
PartSelect Number PS3598699
Manufacturer Part Number 6600W1K001Q
This microwave door switch provides power to the various components in the microwave when the door is in a closed position, and interrupts power when the door is open. This door switch is approximately 1 1/2 inches long, and has 2 metal prongs called terminals that extend from its body. If your microwave will not turn or heat properly, there could be an issue with the door switch. You can check the switch for continuity using a multi-meter. With the actuator button depressed, you should see continuity between these terminals. If there is no continuity the switch will need to be replaced. NOTE: Before you begin this repair, first make sure your microwave is unplugged, and that your capacitor is discharged. A capacitor stores large amounts of electricity even when your microwave is unplugged.

Grill Vent Broken Tabs
Piece of cake. Grill arrived quickly, was easily installed with a Phillips head screwdriver, needed for the two upper screws which most folks don't think about - Hence the need for this part, since the charcoal filter is behind the grill and most people don't think about replacing this. Easy installation of all filters. Thanks! Read more...

Panasonic Light Bulb - 120V 30W
★★★★★

9 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS3530415
Manufacturer Part Number 6912W1Z004B
This is a light bulb and it is a part for your microwave. This bulb uses 30 watts, operates on 125 volts, and is an incandescent lamp. The function of this bulb is to illuminate the surface underneath and inside of your appliance while the door is open, and during a cooking cycle. You will need to replace this part if your door is open and the light is not activated. We recommend that you unplug your microwave and leave it inactive for some time before making this repair. Proceed with caution as the capacitors in a microwave can hold dangerous electrical charges for long periods of time even when the appliance has been unplugged.

Panasonic Glass Cooking Tray
★★★★★
★★★★★
10 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS3517413
Manufacturer Part Number 1B71961H
This OEM glass cooking tray is a removable glass plate, measuring 13 inches in diameter, that spins inside the microwave during operation. It ensures that heat is evenly distributed in the microwave to properly heat or cook the food. Over time, the heat generated in the microwave can cause the glass to warp and the plastic rollers to wear down. The glass can also crack or shatter accidentally. It is important to replace the glass as soon as it is no longer functioning well to prevent uneven heating and reduce any safety hazards from damaged glass. Carefully pull the old glass cooking tray from the microwave and clean the microwave cavity. Place the new tray onto the rotating mechanism, and properly align it with the rollers. Turn the microwave on and check to see that the tray is rotating freely.

This bracket holds the metal or plastic flapper that closes off the exhaust duct when the fan is not running and opens when the fan turns on. If the exhaust fan on your microwave does not appear to be working, the problem may be with the damper assembly. Broken door micro switch. (unit does not start heating)
Unplug the unit before servicing. Need phillips screwdriver. Open door. Use step ladder to access and remove 2 small screws from top of the room air diffuser at top of unit. Slide diffuser slightly to the left to align the diffuser's plastic tab on the left side to rotate toward you. (The wires for the front control panel are at the far left side of this difuser, but difuser is slotted for easy removal). Once the difuser is removed you will see 1 screw at the top that secures the pannel cover on the left side of the unit. Remove screw and slide this panel slightly up and out. This exposes the plastic frame that holds the upper and lower door switches. To locate the door switches and observe how they work, close and open the door and watch the door (bayonets) open and close the micro switches. Do the (red) buttons on top of the switches move up and down when the door bayonets push and release? If the buttons do not "pop" up when opened the switch is defective. The switch frame is secured with 2 screws. Remove screws and rotate the unit out for easy access to the micro switch(s). The internal (spring?) on my unit that is suposed to allow the red (visible) button on top of the switch to "pop" up when the door is opened was broken. Carefully pry the switch outward while being careful to lift the plastic holder-piece that holds the switch in place. Be careful, there is a small pin on the frame, so rotate the switch OUT toward you while lifting (carefully) the plastic holder-piece (you will see it on top of the switch). You can use an ohm meter to test the continuity of the switches. But if the buttons don't "pop" they are defective. Replace switch and reassemble. Read more...
