Micro Switch Specifications
This microwave door switch provides power to the various components in the microwave when the door is in a closed position, and interrupts power when the door is open. This door switch is approximately 1 1/2 inches long, and has 2 metal prongs called terminals that extend from its body. If your microwave will not turn or heat properly, there could be an issue with the door switch. You can check the switch for continuity using a multi-meter. With the actuator button depressed, you should see continuity between these terminals. If there is no continuity the switch will need to be replaced.
NOTE: Before you begin this repair, first make sure your microwave is unplugged, and that your capacitor is discharged. A capacitor stores large amounts of electricity even when your microwave is unplugged.

Microwave Timer would count down, but unit would not heat. Turntable not turning.

Replaced entire door latch assembly with the three micro switches. Easier to replace entire latch assembly as individual switches do not remove easily from latch assembly. Had trouble removing front panel assembly. Parts ordered solved this problem.

well I unplugged the microwave one day prior to working on it. shock precaution smart way to do this job. very easy pullout the screws behind the unit pull off the outer casing. minor screws inside the unit you have to remove a couple things out of the way. unplug the magnetron and remove first gives you more room to work on the side pane

l to replace the micro switches. I only replaced one the bottom micro switch. only one bad, but since I was in there I clean the bulb and changed the magnetron any ways. I read other reviews and made my choice to do so. it works perfectly now. Thanks PartSelect for having parts.

ve. Located Micro Switch,(on the left side connected with two snap-in wires).Pull out wires, pull out the switch. Replaced faulty switch with the new one. Snapped in two wires. Very easy. However, need short 2" philip screwdriver to be able to unscrew screw holding the old switch. Few minutes job! 5. Attached front panel. 6. Connected microwave back to power. Problems gone all work fine.

Where do i find the part number on the door switches? And will this solve a problem of no heat and no turntable?
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your question. The part number listed under your model number for the door interlock switch kit is PS373050. When your microwave turns on but does not heat up, it may mean the door switch is broken. The door switch signals other microwave components to supply power when closed, and to stop heating when open. The door switch can also be called an interlock switch. When this part doesn’t work, the fan and stirrer motors may still function, which makes your microwave look like it is working. If the microwave is not heating you also need to check the magnetron. Will not shut off..light works and the oven heats up
Hello Tom, thank you for your question. This is normally caused by a bad door or door switches in the unit. We would recommend replacing the door switches first, and if the issue persists, the board could be the issue. I hope this helps!

My microwave will run for 2-3 min. And shut off. Regardless of the time entered/
Hello Sharon, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the main PC Board, PartSelect Number PS9865010. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

How to open the door to install the switche(s)
Hello and thank you for writing.
Remove the front control panel from the microwave. Locate Micro Switch,(on the left side connected with two snap-in wires). Pull out wires, pull out the switch. Replaced faulty switch with the new one. Snapp in two wires. Very easy. However, need a short 2" Philip screwdriver to be able to unscrew the screw holding the old switch. Attached front panel. Microwave keeps blowing fuses. I have replaced the 20 amp fuse numerous times, each time the unit works great then for no apparent reason the fuse will blow. I’m not sure but it may happen when the door is being opened or closed. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Thank you for your question. If the fuses in the microwave are continually blowing, there are some things that may be causing this. You may have either a malfunctioning cooling fan, a loose screw or a piece of metal could be causing a short circuit, the high voltage capacitor could be shorted out or the door interlock switches maybe malfunctioning. The vent fan comes on by itself and won't stop unless i unplug it. What's going on? My husband has had me order a new thermostat because the fan will stop if one side of it is unplugged but is that really what is wrong? I know if the stove top gets hot the fan automatically comes on until it cools the microwave down but this is a constant thing now and not just a once in awhile happening. Could it be the thermostat?
