ZIF36NMARH General Electric Freezer - Instructions

I spent 15 - 20 minutes just hunting/deciding which of several sets of parts & directions to follow. The provided directions were not bad; but none of them quite matched my GE ADORA side-by-side model. Once I came up with the actions I would need to take...I was done in 5 minutes! Read more need (and one or two un-needed parts included for other model GE refrigerators) I am very happy with PART SELECT...altough GE doesn't rate as high with me for their declining reliability.

I am more than 80 yrs, always thought I could fix just about everything--but, this looked complicated. Once I received the new icemaker; took a good look where the screw-holes, etc. were, then removed the "old" one. Took about 20 or 30 minutes, then the "new" one was easily installed.

The adapter made the cord a bit long but other than that it was great!!!

Wathched the video and it was done in less than 15 min making ice again no problem

Took old part out , put new part in. Was so easy thought we did it wrong. Ice maker working great, have lots of ice now. Thank you. Colleen

Followed the video demo and would have been done sooner but for limited work space- narrow freezer compartment and the release tabs on the electrical plug. First home repair that the air was not blue and got done in under time allocated.

Took out one hex screw, disconnect electric couplings, pulled original ice maker out and found that the water supply line to the ice maker was frozen solid as well as the shute cup. Used hair dryer to thaw out the line and the cup reinstaled old ice maker and it worked fine. Did not have to use the new part at all at this time. Am keeping ... Read more new part for future use.

took 1 screw out and removed ice maker and slid new one in and replace screw and connected power cord

Reviewed video which was very helpful. Loosened two philips head screws, lifted up ice maker, unpluged power suppy and reinstalled. One of the easiest replacements ever!!

Super easy, had my 15 year old do it (with my supervision).
Followed very clear Instructions that come with the replacement...
But, he could not get to the plug location until he removed 4 screws holding the motor assembly that spins the ice in the drawer and moved it out of the way...

Went to GE website and researched the problem for the model, determined that it was 90% sure it was the Ice maker, I ordered it and it arrived the next day, installed it and it began working immediately,

After what I thought was a thorough troubleshooting of said problem I replaced the Water Valve Assy which was really easy as the video shared, but it did not fix my problem. I had forgotten to pull the water line apart at the coupling below the doors (this was a troubleshooting step in another area). The water not dispensing was due to ... Read more the line being frozen! Putting all items in a cooler with a couple blocks of ice and leaving the freezer door open for the length of watching a movie, the water was flowing again. Still no ice though. Ice maker vs mother board at the rear of the fridge, Hmmmm. Went with the ice maker, watched video, ole Steve makes the plugs disconnecting look easy, I had to use a flat head screwdriver to open the clips (he doesn't mention that) and I had 4 screws where he had 3. Also he didn't mention about the instructions which gives you 3 options with your unit. I had to re-use my Plastic Stripper Plate along with the Fill Cup and Ice Maker Insert. After completion of installation and about a half hour later, I heard ice fall, Wooohoooo!!! Overall the experience will make me think to utilize PartSelect again when needed. Reasonable prices and decent shipping time. Now the freezer light is out...

Took out the old, replaced with the new. Needed second person to hold the flash light. That is the secret to get it plugged in and secured.

I read the step by step instructions that came with the part. I turned two screws and disconnected the electrical harness and Removed the icemaker. Two other parts from the old icemaker were easily removed without any tools and put on the new icemaker. The new icemaker was put in the same way the old one came out. I reconnected the el ... Read more ectrical harness and tightened the old screws. The hardest part of the whole job was reading the directions. They were easy to follow if you take the time to Just read them!

The video on the GE site was great. Showed step by step instructions on how to remove the old ice maker and install the new one. Also helpful was the detail on the water chute which needed to be moved from the old ice make to the new one. Saved hundreds of dollars by not having to have a repairman do this work for me.
