Diaphragm Assembly – Part Number: 95-526-9-8

Diaphragm Assembly
Part #95-526-9-8
This authentic OEM metering diaphragm assembly is housed within the carburetor of your lawn and garden equipment. Positioned between the carburetor body and the fuel pump, it regulates fuel delivery and maintains the air-fuel ratio within the engine. It has a self-adjusting vacuum system and responds to the amount of fuel being drawn into the engine. When the engine runs at higher speeds, more fuel is pulled in and the diaphragm compresses. As a result, the pin in the center of the diaphragm pushes against the metering level and lifts the regulator inlet needle, letting additional fuel flow from the pump into the reservoir. If the assembly malfunctions, you may experience engine stalling, rough idling, or notice fuel odor, pooling, or dripping around the carburetor area. To remove the metering diaphragm, refer to your user guide for instructions on locating and accessing the carburetor. This typically involves removing the fuel pump cover screw and pump cover, followed by the fuel pump diaphragm and gasket. Remember to blow through the external pulse hole on the body casting and remove the filter screen before proceeding to remove the four screws securing the metering diaphragm plate and the metering diaphragm itself. Please note that this replacement part is sold individually.

Spring Friction – Part Number: 98-162-7
$6.40

Spring Friction
Part #98-162-7
This choke friction spring is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer for use in carburetors. It is a small, coiled metal spring that helps to maintain the desired position of the choke by providing the right amount of tension. If the spring wears down, breaks, or is dislodged from its position, you will notice difficulties starting the engine, rough idling, and lower power output. To remove the spring, use a pair of needle nose pliers to detach it from the choke lever/plate. Install the new friction choke spring, and ensure it is adequately tensioned to keep the choke in place. Move the choke lever to confirm that the plate opens and closes freely, before reassembling your equipment.
Spring Compression – Part Number: 98-405-7

Spring Compression
Part #98-405-7
This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. The spring is commonly found in Walbro carburetors. This part is made of metal, and is used to provide tension to the needle. Please be aware that there are different needles used in the machine. Refer to the parts diagram to be sure of ordering the correct part. This part is sold individually.
Ball Steel – Part Number: 89-13-8
$6.40
In Stock
Ball Steel
Part #89-13-8
This OEM choke friction ball measures approximately .125-inches in diameter and is made of high-quality steel. This choke friction ball works within the carburetor of an engine, along with the choke friction spring, to provide tension onto the choke lever for precise user control. If the ball becomes warped, damaged, or worn-out, it can cause the level of tension for the choke lever to diminish, ultimately affecting the choke mechanism functionality. If you notice the choke lever is loose, difficult to adjust, or simply does not hold, the friction ball is likely damaged or warped. To prevent any sort of issues with the friction ball in the future, make sure to perform regular cleaning and maintenance on the choke mechanism and apply a small amount of lubricant such as silicone grease or engine oil when necessary. To replace the choke friction ball in your engine, disconnect the spark plug on your equipment and access the choke mechanism ? which may require you to disassemble covers, filters, or other components to access it. Once you locate the ball, use a screwdriver or set of pliers to remove the ball from its housing and clean the housing before installing the new ball. You can then install the new ball, along with the rest of the choke mechanism, and test to see whether its movement has improved
