i had used your web site before and i read several problems that your readers had. i went to the back of the unit, removed the bottom cover and right there the i found the run capacitor and i chaged it. since i had only ordered this part to save money i went back and ordered the Start Device which when i took it off it was completely burn ed. the replacement part came labeled with 2 different compressor #, so i picked the one that i had and unpluged each wire. the part may differ from the one that it's in the unit but it worked when i pluged everything back on. it also helps to take a picture of everything before removing the wires in case you have to leave it and come back later. i hope to use this refrigerator another 10 years. thank you all for your help.

It was so easy!

Thanks for the rush to my home on the part.

I just unscrewed the plate that locks in the light switch (screwdriver) and unplugged the old faulty part and plugged in the new switch, screwed the cover back on and I was done!

Easy!

  • Frederick from APEX, NC

Unplug, then on the freezer side, remove the drawers, then remove the screws holding the sheet metal cover, remove the rails (for the drawer) that interfere with removing the sheet metal cover. pull the wires off the motor. There is a big plastic piece that holds a small plastic piece that holds the motor. Remove the plastic piece that h olds the motor/fan (you might be able to swap the motor by removing the little plastic piece that holds the motor, or you can remove the bigger piece and then remove the small piece that holds the motor). Pull the fan blade off (to reuse), swap the motor. NOTE - the new motor wire terminals may be on the opposite side of the motor vs. the old motor - that is not a problem - there is plenty of room for the wires. After the motor is installed put the fan blade back on, reinstall the removed plastic pieces in the back of the refrigerator. Now, I'd suggest a quick test. Make sure the new motor works and the fan blows before you button it up. Once you know it works, power it off, and put the sheet metal cover back on, reinstall the basket brackets, put the baskets back in place, close the door, and turn it back on.

No water in ice maker feed line to icemaker

  • Gregory from PACIFIC BEACH, WA
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins

I replaced the water inlet valve. This was a easy except for the place the valve was located. I removed the back panel cover after unplugging the refrigerator, shut off the water feed line to the refrigerator. After some cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, to remove build up dust and lint, I was able to reach in and pull the valve loose f rom the mounting bracket. I removed the electrical plugs from the valve and all three water lines. One that was completed, I was able to remove the valve from it's location. Replacing the valve, was easy enough, as I just attached the water line hoses back into the mounting location and plugged in the electrical plugs, then placed the valve back onto the mounting bracket. I then turned the water feed line back on and checked for leaks. Once I was able to make sure there were no water leaks, I replaced the back panel cover and plugged the refrigerator back it to the power plugin. The valve immediately began working, supplying water to the icemaker.
