My ice maker continually overfills the the tray then spills into the dispenser where it freezes and jams up the spiral rod. It's a little over 1 year old. NEED HELP. I'm a handy guy so tell me what to do. PLEASE.

Hello Thomas, thank you for contacting us. The issue is most probably related to a faulty water inlet valve, part number PS11775241. We would recommend checking the valve for continuity and ensuring that the water pressure is not above 20 psi. Also, inspect the shut-off arm, part number PS12717126, and the ice dispenser solenoid, part number PS11752532, which shifts the ice container deflector to dispense crushed ice or cubed ice. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.

Where is the ice maker reset switch on this model?
For model number WRX735SDHV01
PartSelect logo
Hi Jennifer, thank you for your query. Based on our research, the reset button is usually located at the bottom of the ice maker unit, or in some cases, the top or bottom of the ice tray. To manually turn off the ice maker, press options to display the options screen. Pressing the ice maker, if the ice maker is currently on, will turn it off the ice maker. The ice maker off icon will flash three times and then stay lit. When the ice maker is set to off, it will stop producing ice. Pressing ice maker, if the ice maker is currently off, turns on the ice maker. The ice maker off icon will disappear. Glad to be of help!

Removing the existing filter by rotating as directed and then dislodging from 'docking' station proved difficult. Turns out, the old filter is under a bit of vacuum pressure and getting the unit to separate or release was a challenge.
I removed the drop-down outer housing by gently prying the sides of the two pivot pins at the rear. This gave me move 'room' to grip and slightly rotate then pull the old filter forward and away from the tight suction connection. I was concerned that I would be too forceful for the plastic assemblies and would break something; deliberate motions and a steady thought process on the problem helped disengage the darned old filter!
