removed freezer door and installed the new one. This was a pretty easy thing to do, although putting the old handle on the new door was a challenge. No knowing that there is a plastic piece holding the top of the handle i broke the that piece and had to order another one. Mean while the freezer was making alot of frost inside, so that

Replaced thermostat with new one in the same location, and let defrost fulley. Reassembled, pluged in, and tested. All was good. But I did also replace timer at first part of the repair so I suggest you re

Removed the back panel in freezer compartment with the nut-driver. Then I cut off old thermostat connections, and spliced in new thermostat connections (repairman had already replaced defrost timer, and said not to trust connectors included on wires-they failed often). Then I snapped thermostat itself onto cooler coil. So far so good,

Pliers
All I had to do was remove the original support that was on the inside wall of the refrigerator, which I had to use pliers since there were broken pieces, and then I just snapped the new one into the three holes provided for this support. The crisper drawer works fine now. It literally only took about 1 minute.

Simply popped the new end caps into place with the old guard and now it is tight and secure. Easy Peasy. Of course all this is after the operator at PartSelect ordered the right part for me; I had ordered the freezer door end cap, not what I wanted. I received the correct part the very next morning. Returning the wrong part was a breeze

Nutdriver
Based on the website I decided it was most probably the defrost timer, and that was correct. I ordered it, watched the video, and two days later the part was at my door. Took the nut driver, removed 4 screws, then removed the old defrost timer, installed the new one, re-installed the whole plastic assembly with the four screws, and done

I used the tool at Partselect that in theory allows diagnostic of the problem to be repaired. The result was that more tan 90% of the time with the introduced symptoms it had to be the thermostat. I order the part, got it quickly and installed. It did not fix the problem. So, be careful with the diagnostic tool, because it is just bas

I want to start by saying that I am female and want to let all females know that we can do home repairs! My story is not just about the repair but the wonderful customer service at PartsSelect.com. parts). This particular time was the first time I received an incorrect part...not sure if it was my ordering or the wrong part was shipped. I contacted PartsSelect.com by email and got a REAL response within 24 hours. The customer service person who responded, immediately credited my account and "found" the correct part to order and less than 48 hours after my first email to them, my new part is already on it's way! I know it will only take minutes to finish my repair and am really impressed with their response time and professionalism when there is a problem. As a rental property owner, I will continue to use and recommend PartSelect.com.

I used a flat head screwdriver to pry open the front of the socket as I pushed the socket toward the freezer side. I unplugged the two wires connected to the socket then re-connected the two wires to the new socket and popped the new socket back in. I then put a new light bulb in and we had light again in the fridge.
