Two door Whirlpool refrigerator.
Frost slowly builds up in the fridge side bottom coil, not on freezer side.

Icemaker will only work intermittently. It will go days without making any ice. Then, it will suddenly start working again. I’ve tried unplugging the fridge for a period of time, hoping it will “reset”. I ordered a new water inlet valve and icemaker assembly. The day it arrived, it started working again. Wondering if either part is going to fix the real problem.

Hello Barbara, thank you for contacting us. Yes, replacing the water inlet valve and icemaker assembly replacements will most likely fix the issue. Besides this, you will also need to check the water supply lines. Check the water line leading to the ice maker, especially the fill tube in the freezer, for any signs of freezing. Thawing the line by turning off the ice maker and using a hairdryer on a low setting may be necessary. A clogged water filter can restrict water flow and prevent the ice maker from getting enough water to produce ice. Replace the water filter regularly to ensure proper water flow. I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
An easy job for smaller hands. Removed the two bolts holding the light cover. Removed two electrical connections from the old switch by pinching the retaining clip,removed the switch, snapped in the new one and re-attached the connectors.
