We heard a noise of a fan hitting ice. Powered it down for 18 hours and repluged it in. It appeare to be working. What could cause it to freeze up? How can we remove the shelf that holds the ice maker so we can take furthe observations?

Our fridge has suddenly stopped cooling and freezing. The lights all work and the power to it is ok. Any thoughts?

Hello Mike, thank you for getting in touch. According to our research, you will need to replace the defrost heater, part number PS11754723, to fix the issue. The heater melts ice buildup in the freezer. It may not be functioning correctly, leading to excessive ice formation or blockages in the drain. Try using a flexible wire, like a pipe cleaner, to dislodge any blockage deep in the drain tube. We hope this helps.
Freezer is leaking because condensation can’t drain properly. Defective “top piece” on drain..
apparently this has been an ongoing problem and a new top on drain is needed.

Hello John, thank you for getting in touch. The drain tube kit, part number PS12711022, could be blocked. It contains the top tip and the drain tube. If the drain tube is kinked or blocked, you need to clear it. If there is ice buildup, clear it also. We hope this helps.
I backed out the 2 top screws about a quarter inch and then removed bottem screw with a quater inch nut driver. I then lifted Ice Maker clear of the two top screws and lowered it enough to unclip the power connection with a small screwdriver. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator.
