Right side endcap - drawer pin broke that the flip up top uses to pivot up and down
3 of 3 people found this instruction helpful.
  • David from Ocean Grove, NJ
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
I removed the right side endcap and rear thermostat piece behind the pull out drawer. It was fairly quick, 3 screws on the exterior of the end cap and one screw holding in the drawer thermostat. The worst part was getting the thermostat control that connects the drawer thermostat control to the rear thermostat. After playing with the c ontrol rod I was able to to snap it in successfully to the endcap with the proper rod connection. The rear thermostat goes in first, then the endcap. Quick and easy. For $23 it would have cost over $150 to call a repair guy ($120 call charge plus parts). Thanks.

Replacing leaking freezer door gasket
3 of 3 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Joseph from OCEAN SPRINGS, MS
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
When the gasket is delivered it will be folded. You will need to unfold it and leave it on a flat surface for several days. Keep it as square as possible, and heat the kinked portions with a hair dryer on high heat and slow fan while molding kinked portions with your hands for 30 to 60 seconds at a time. Do that 2-3 times per day. Whe n it looks 90% uniform with the non kinked portions, you can install it. Installation takes less than 10 minutes. Clean the metal edge of the freezer well. I recommend taking the door annd frame off (This is remarkably easy. THe door and frame pretty much lifts up and out after you hold the rail clips inward) because the lower edge is so close to the floor. The just pulll off the old gasket. There are no screws or clips. Starting in any corner, press new gasket into place. Go around the perimeter several times to make sure it is pushed in fully and evenly. Then reinstall the door and frame.

difficult to reach mounting screws without removing top freezer rack
3 of 3 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Beverly from RIO RANCHO, NM
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Nutdriver
Loosen the 2 mounting screws on the top about 2 turns; take the one mounting screw on the bottom all of the way out. The top part of the ice maker drops down on the loose top screws. That holds the ice maker while installing the bottom screw. No need to shut off water to the ice maker, just shut off electricity to refrigerator.

No evap. fan function, freezer cold, refrigerator not cold.

  • Michael from WINCHESTER, VA
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins

My unit was a bottom mounted freezer, the door assembly and side out rack unit took more time then the repair. Once you take the back panel off it is just a matter of unplugging and two screws. Easier to pull fan mounting housing out to replace motor. Be careful its all plastic, pot off fan blades off shaft, pot out old motor, pot in new motor, slide fan blades back on shaft, make sure you get the mounting housing behind the duck that goes up to your refrigerator section, two screws and plug in connections and your done. Put back panel, rack and door assembly back in and you are friggen again, once you plug it in of course.

Light switch wasn't working.. As I would close the door I would notice our frig light wasn't going off...
3 of 4 people found this instruction helpful.
  • David from Hemet, CA
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I simply removed the old switch by gently pulling down on the old switch with a screwdriver. When it was about half way out I just gently pulled down on the old switch and it popped out... I removed the two connectors attached to the old switch by pulling on the connectors with a pliers...I tried using my fingers but wasn't able to pull t he connectors off so I used pliers. It worked perfectly.. When pulling off the old connectors, make sure you attach the new switch to the same tabs on the new switch... It was very easy to do and took under 5 mins.....The light switch works perfect....P.S. You should unplug the frig while making the connection just in case....Safety first....!!!

I got really tired of taking food out covered in icicles and stabbing a huge block of ice out of the bottom. Turns out all he needed was a little wheel with cogs and I looked up the sticker model number on this site and clicked the part of the fridge. So simple, wish I would’ve done it sooner.

I had a loose fitting old condensor fan blade on my new motor.

  • Roger from SMITHFIELD, RI
  • Very Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Nutdriver
I made a temporary repair by drilling the old blade plastic hub and put a small screw in it to hold it on to the shaft until the new blade arrived. The new blade came in within the two days I needed before Thanksgiving. I removed the old and pushed on the new. There were 8 screws on the back guard and two to hold the motor on. It was a snap.
Thank you PartSelect.com The wife is very, very happy now, we had 51 coming over for Thanksgiving. :)

I unpacked the glass and slipped it into the shelf. Done.
What was more impressive was the delivery time. I ordered the glass at about 12:30pm one day and the glass was at my door by 9am the next morning. Even my husband was impressed with that.
