First, I removed the old door gasket by pulling it out of the channel it was mounted in, noting the orientation of the gasket. Then, it was a simple matter of lining the new gasket up with the channel and pressing it into the groove. Very easy repair, and the door seals great!

Really was very easy to do.
I read how others completed the replacement & followed instructions that came with the replacement gasket. Original gasket (new in 2008) was at first stubborn to remove but once I got it started was easy to complete removal.
The new gasket arrived folded in half. I followed the instructions to elimi ... Read more nate the bends and a few crinkles with heat by laying the gasket in direct sunlight until it was warmed and pliable. I cleaned the gasket areas and then massaged the warmed gasket until it was smooth & fully shaped. It was then very easily to install.
So glad I decided to order this original part form this site and install myself. Saved a lot of money plus enjoyed satisfaction of doing this myself

Removed the old gasket and made sure we put the new one in the same way. A wooden mixing spoon was the best tool for pushing the gasket into the track without hurting it. We used the back of the spoon and it went right in with no problem.

Beware - the website does not indicate that doors are different sizes on this model refrigerator. Not paying attention I ordered 2 of the same size gasket which only fit the right side door - had to send one back and reorder left side from Whirpool directly.

This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Laid gasket in direct sunlight for an hour, heat made it very pliable. Removed existing gasket from door groove, which came out with little effort. Pressed new gasket in door groove with minimal effort as it was pliable from sunlight heat. Gasket seated correctly and resulted in tight seal.

First, selecting the right part is more difficult than the repair. My Kenmore is an outdated model actually manufactured by Whirlpool.

The replacement is easy, no tools required. The gasket fits in a channel along the edge of the door. It's easy to see how it fits, when the old gasket is removed. Could not figure out why this was happening suddenly. Then remembered I had recently changed the lid to one I had stored for over two years in the garage. We had to replace the side panel of the draawer because the warped lid had broken the peg off of one side. I didn't want that to happen again.
The new lid did the job....This company is the only one I will use in the future for my appliances. Very easy to find parts and the pricing was better.
