W18FY1C Magic Chef Washer - Instructions

Disconnect power, unsnap and raise machine top cover w/lid, remove old switch - two screws under lid, taking care to not drop loose actuator lever into machine. removed the screw holding the actuator, ordered the new part and replaced it when it arrived. Shipping was really fast and I even received it one day early.

Removed the screw from the side of the lid of the washer. Took off the old Lid Switch Actuator and screwed in the new one. Took a little elbow grease because the old screw was tight but no longer than 15 minutes tops.

unscrew the screw holding the broken part in the lid to remove the old part and tighten the screw to a firm position to hold the new piece in place. Now working fine.

Removed the old hoses and screwed on the new hoses.

unscrewed screw holding old actuater in and replaced it whith the new part.

The lid switch is on the right side top of the washer under the lid. I took a putty knife and found the clips that hold the top of the washer and pushed them to release it. I then lifted it up to fully see the lid switch. I unplugged the washer from the wall socket and took out the 2 screws that holds the lid switch in. Then unplugged the ... Easy repair - with the use of a phillips screwdriver, simply remove the old device and replace with the new

Turn water off at the inlet valve of hose you are replacing. Disconnect inlet hose the washer and let water drain out in a bucket. Then remove old hose. Replace new hose to inlet valve then washer . Use pliers to tighten both ends. Turn on water to check leaks at both ends of hose.

I unscrewed the old lid switch and screwed on the new switch in seriously 2 minutes!

just a matter of 1 screw to remove and replace part ordered part 1 day and came in next day with regular mail. was a surprise for my daughter, she went on vacation and i fixed while she was gone. she was using different items to place in slot to engage each cycle.

Unscrewed one screw and replaced with new part.
