New seal arrived basically folded in half for shipping. Was advised to use hair dryer and/or hot water to restore original shape. Neither worked. I installed it anyway and am waiting (3 days so far) for it to seal (so far, no luck). I'll give it another day or 2, re-install the old one and write off the $75

It's self-explanatory. The procedure is obvious; it's just a little difficult. The only hard part is attaching the mounting brackets to the fan. If you can't tighten the mounting bolts, loosen them and reposition the brackets. You might end up mispositioning them at first, because they are hard to reach.

The refrigerator never gave me any trouble. It's at least 25 years old. It runs like new now. The gasket can be softened, gently using a hairdryer. The key is to attach the gasket to the refrigerator and use a hairdryer, going back and forth the length of the gasket. Then, to stop using the hairdryer and with the hands pull (gently) on t

he gasket, the length of the gasket straightening and making the gasket wider so it attaches to the refrigerator as it cools. Then look for gaps and places where air is escaping and repeat, until a good seal is achieved. This is so much better than buying new, and in 10 years buying new again with planned obsolescence.

I recently bought an old Amana refrigerator for my garage on CraigsList for 75 bucks. It was in great condition for its age, but was missing the post that supports the fruit and veggie crisper drawers. I did a Google search, quickly found PartSelect, and just as quickly located and ordered the missing part, which was reasonably priced.

PartSelect promised it woud be delivered in 3-5 days by FedEx Ground and it was. I took it out of the box, removed the crisper backets - and glass cover for them - installed the post and WHA-LA, the crisper backets work just as good as when the fridge was new! Couldn't have had an on-line mal-order operation go any slicker!
