Took the paper clip, pressed in through the holes on the bottom of the ice dispenser panel. Removed the four screws. Loosened the panel and removed the wires. replaced the flapper door. Then reversed the process. Your video was VERY helpful except for the paper clip. Had to get that off another web site.

Popped off the front frame and front of mother board. unscrewed the assembly to be able to lift up to get to flapper. Lifted it up out of the the way ( wires are attached so it may take one other person to hold it up out of the way). Pop out the old flapper and replace with new one. Easy !

The trim piece covering the opening of the dispenser is the first and most difficult part of the disassembly. Take care when removing this piece that it does not break.

ice dispenser chute kept freezing with condensation
  • Gregory from Hughesville, MD
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
The flapper on the ice chute was curled up and not creating a good seat, so the chute kept clogging up with frozen condensation, especially during the humid summer months. The online video made it so easy to replace the part myself. I was able to fix the problem in under 15 minutes and at a fraction of the price!

Ice Dispenser Door Seal not sealing, frost in freezer
  • Thomas from Mooresville, NC
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
Googled how to replace the door seal, ordered parts and replaced the door seal flapper. The video on partselect was not correct for this GE model. However a simple diagran showed you simply remove the control panel directly (pops off) to provide access to the panel. Remove the 4 screws holding the panel, replace the door seal, and reas semble.
