I went online and discovered the repair method and schematic of the range. I removed the spark module after first removing the upper rear panel cover and replaced with the new part module ordered from your company and now the spark module operates all the gas elements when they are turned on thus lighting the gas burners. My mother in law was thrilled, as she had been using matches and burning her finger tips, since the original range part malfunctioned. The only problem was the small screw from the original installation was not long enough , so it required some changes to get it affixed to the cabinet side. Thanks for the reasonable price and the right part for the job!!

  • Joe from San Bruno, CA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins

Disconnected gas & electric connections; lifted unit out of countertop onto padded table upside down. Unscrewed ~16 sheet metal screws for access. Removed bad ignitor by driving off retaining clip. Had to remove burner (3 screws) for access to install retaining clip on new ignitor. Reassembled, reinstalled. Works like new!

Spark Module malfunction, won't spark

  • Darrel from Kewaunee, WI
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
Removed back upper cover, unscrewed retaining screw from module. As noted in a comment from another do-it-yourselfer, I replaced screw with a longer one and reinstalled module. Note that the replacement part is not exactly the same as the old one(the wires are located differently), I noted the wire color codes with the slot number and r einstalled them in the same slot number. Works fine.

Used a pair of pliers and pulled firmly on ignit. elect. till the retaining clip pulled off the bottom of the elect. The wire pulled off the bottom of it and I had to use a long- thin- nose set of needlenose pliers to pull the wire out of where the elect. came out.Plugged wire in place and snapped electrode back in place without using the retainer clip.Works great. Thanks Wade

Remove the complete counter top stove and place it upside down on a flat surface to enable you to remove all the surrounding small screws with a nut driver, then separate the bottom from the top accessing the retaining ring holding the ceram ic electronic Ignition in place, remove the electric wire from the the old igniter. The most difficult part of the job was removing the retaining ring and installing the new ring.Job successfully completed.

We were extremely happy that there was a replacement for our cooktop. When appliances are 25 yrs old it becomes difficult to find replacements and sometimes there just aren't any. Thank you Parts Select.
