This assembly is installed on or near the clutch assembly of the chainsaw and is usually accessible by removing an access panel. Replacing this assembly is easy and only requires a wrench and screwdriver. First, disengage the chain brake and remove the screws securing the side panel of your chainsaw. Remove the side panel and locate the bar adjustment screw. Loosen the old adjustment screw and remove it and the tensioner pin. Thread the new adjustment screw through the new tensioner pin until the screw is locked into place. Then rotate the screw counterclockwise until the pin is in the middle of the screw. Replace the cover panel assembly and test the chainsaw.
