RVM1425BA02 Hotpoint Microwave - Instructions

I removed the screws that held the bottom in and then dropped it down to access the motor. I removed the 2 screws that held the motor in and unplugged it. I then plugged the new one in and reattached it with the 2 screws and put the bottom back on. It took me about 5 minutes to fix it for only $40.00.

Simply removed screw, pulled down light holder, unfoled the metal tabs, took out the broken pieces and replaced the glass lens and light bulb.

removed glass turn plate, removed broken coupler, went on-line and order the part on the GE website. It was really easy to determine the part number because of the diagram on the internet site, once I had the part number, simply placed the order. I was surprised how quickly the part arrived.

Just removed the screws from botton of unit, unplugged and removed the burned up motor, reveresed the process to install new motor. Less than 10 minute job.

unscrewed the screw, pried up metal tabs that hold in light lens. took out broken pieces, slid in new light lens re-secured tabs with fingers, screwed in the screw again.

bought a replacement for it

unsrewed the bottom of the microwave(there was about five or six screws)located the motor unpluged it and unscrewed the two screws holding the motor once installed i reversed the proceedure and put everything back together...simple as 1,2,3...

I diagnosed the problem myself. I googled GE parts and was refered to you guys. I ordered the part and it took less than a 5 days to arrive. I used a phillips scewdrive to remove the cover of my microwave and removed the turning glass motor. This took less that 30min and cost less that $50.00. The Glass cooking tray was very noisy. This was verified by turning off the tray rotation.

1. Removed the two metal filters.
2. Removed the screws holding the bottom cover of the microwave. 6 or 7 I believe.
3. Removed the two screws holding the drive motor in place.
4. Started the microwave with the motor han ... Read more ging down to to verify it was defective. I could hear the motor rotating and making noise.
5. Replaced the motor, bottom cover, & filters in reverse order.
6. Tested, Works fine!

Remove the 8 screws in the bottom pan covering the bottom, unpluged the lights and motor plug-ins, slid or pulled the pan forward or to me and removed pan. prized the triange piece which fit into the glass tray to turn it to remove it. removed the two screws which held the motor in place. presto, got the model # off the inside panel and ... P.S. cleaned everything while I had it apart, toke longer than chancing the part.

Dropped the bottom of the microwave,removed the two screws holding the motor in, disconnected the electric wires, reversed the procedure and it worked like new!

This repair was easy and could be done by anyone. If you undertake to do this replacement, remember to slowly bend the medal tabs back that hold the lens. Handled roughly these tabs could break off.

This repair can be don in under 5 minutes, easily !!

Unplugged microwave from the wall. Removed the screws on the bottom of the oven. Detached the light, removed the bottom panel. Unscrewed one more screw on the turn table motor and twisted to remove. Plugged in the new one and reattached the Electrical wires and bottom panel. Piece of cake. Just don't forget to reconnect the lights!

ha to remove the bottom ,to get at the internal screws that held the drive motor. after disconnecting the power to the moter, i removed the two screws that held it in place. i installed thre new motor , reconnected the wire plug to motor . replaced the outer screws, and the project was done.
