RTG650-P1131487NW Caloric Cooktop - Instructions

I used a screwdriver to pry the electrode assy. out of the burner. then disconnected the wire.
Then just connected the new electrode and place the assy, in the burner.

Disconnected gas & electric connections; lifted unit out of countertop onto padded table upside down. Unscrewed ~16 sheet metal screws for access. Removed bad ignitor by driving off retaining clip. Had to remove burner (3 screws) for access to install retaining clip on new ignitor. Reassembled, reinstalled. Works like new!

Used a pair of pliers and pulled firmly on ignit. elect. till the retaining clip pulled off the bottom of the elect.The wire pulled off the bottom of it and I had to use a long- thin- nose set of needlenose pliers to pull the wire out of where the elect. came out.Plugged wire in place and snapped electrode back in place without using the ... removed igniter and found porcelin split in half. JB welded both halves and put back into slot ,works fine now. Bought two extra in case.

The most difficult part of the job was removing the retaining ring and installing the new ring.Job successfully completed.

removed one screw lifted he brner took retainer off unpluged the igniter it had broken porcelen reversed the procedure everything worked fine
