In my case the defrost thermostat was not the problem. Not worth going through the hassle of checking the thermostat as I would have had to cut it out and test it in another freezer (while the food that was in the freezer was being stored elsewhere). I ended up getting a drain tube heater strap, and have been keeping my eye on the fridge. It hasn't been long enough to say the strap fixed the problem, but all indications are pointing to that being the case.

use kitchen knife to pry out. replaced switch assemble and pressed back into place. Could not have done this with out help from previous customers. Thanks

I replaced the cracked crisper drawers with the new ones just by sliding them in the bottom of the refrigerator. This did not solve the problem because one of the drawers was smaller than the other one and left a big space. Took out the old, cracked, crisper unit and removed the white trim piece on the handle so that we could re-use it on the new crisper unit (which, in spite of the $90+ price tag did not come with new trim). The whole thing took 3 minutes to do.

PartsSelect diagrams at their website made it easy to find and order the right part at a reasonable price. I removed the lower glass shelf and frame that supports it. removed old and installed new compartment door by hand.

I just slipped the new drawer into place. So easy, even a woman can do it! ( I am female!)

The first part I changed was the defrost timer but it did
not solve the problem, I replaced the bi-metal defrost sensor
and I have the same problem.

I can defrost by turning the clock manually and heater works.

Removed door and replaced bushing bracket was ok.

The evaporator fan and the condenser fan were operating, but the compressor was not operating. I removed the terminal cover from the compressor and checked continuity on the overload. I found that it was an open. I removed the overload and installed the new one and the refrigerator is now cooling. I also cleaned the condenser coil. I beli ... Read more eve this is what caused the high temperature/high amperage condition, that finally caused the overload to fail.

Inserted scraper behind gasket breaking it free from door, permitting a hand hold. While putting tension on gasket, slid scraper around door gently removing old gasket. Replaced gasket starting at top gradually working around door. No need to remove door.

I ordered a new one waited for the new ones to come in once it did I took out the old ones and replaced them with the new ones. It was simple.

Pried out old part with screwdriver. Unplugged. When new part came, just plugged it in and pushed the part into place.

I pulled the socket out and unplugged the wires. I replaced the light socket by plugging in the wires and snapping the light socket into place. A very simple fix.
