bulbs were not burnt out. received the new switch in a few days. watch the short video, was good to see how it comes out. used a putty knife to release the defective switch, removed wires put them on the new one and posed the new switch back in. I unscrewed the fill tube screws from the back of the fridge, and pulled the tube out.

Then I put the new tube in, screwed the screws back in and reconnected the waterline.

Simply removed the old and replaced with the new part.

Had to remove both doors freezer and fresh section. Once I had door off removed the screws, and old gasket, cleaned all aroud where old gasket was, and proceeded to put new gasket on, It was hard lining up gasket with metal rods that hold gasket on could only do one screw at a time, because gasket kept slipping out, it was very time consu ... Removed the one screw and replaced with new end cap. Only disappointment was the beige color, as I would have preferred a white one. White color was not offered. Other than that it took less than five minutes. I'd rate it 4 stars.

The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new ligh ... After finding water on the floor I investigated to find the leak. I Found theat the Icemaker fill tube on the back of the frig was cracked(due to someone pushing the frig back against the wall). A very cold and brittle switch in a 17 year old fridge. Used screwdrivers to pry out with some resistance Had to cut the molded plug in half and split wires, because replacement contacts were farther apart than the original. End result, works great.

My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.

Used a screwdriver to pry loose the old switch, swapped wires to the new switch and pushed it into the opening. Took about 2 minutes.

removed the 2 screws that held the panel in place, had to reach up and push on locking tabs to lower trhe front of the panel. was able to then push on the locking tab of the switch to release it. removed the wires, replaced them onto the new switch, and snapped the switch into place. the rest was reverse of the uninstall process.
