Unplugged the appliance for safety. Removed two 1/4" screws that held the assembly in place. Carefully removed the wire guard that retains the glass shield. Unscrewed old light bulb and replaced with new part. Reversed the steps after cleaning glass cover.

I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. 0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot.
1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back.
2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap.

4. Put the cap back.
5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.

No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.

Very easy, didn't even have to take the oven out of the wall. Will use this site again.

From what I was able to find info on I was to take out 5 screws 3 on top and 2 on the bottom then the inner oven box is suppose to pull out a bit to take the old gasket off and put the new onw on the box was so rusty it would not pull out so I was able to get enough of the box out using a large screwdriver the lip of the gasket tucks behi ... Read more nd the box. I ended up using a small screwdriver to work the new gasket behind the oven box. The door now needs new springs the tension on them is not strong enough to pull the door shut the way it should there's still room to push the door into new gasket.

Easy

Turned the wire protector to the side. Turned out the old bulb and replaced it with the new. Turned the wire protector back in place and I'm like new.

Unplugged and pulled oven out, removed cover from top, removed control unit, prepared new control unit with jumper and face sticker, transferred wires from old unit to new unit, checked operation of new unit by plugging oven in... wooo hooo it works! reverse above steps... viola... done!

The control kit came very fast only a few days. the instructions were ok but not that clear.....they have u add a jumper wire which is not hard to figure out but the fact that they say nothing about what wire needs to go from the other side of the relay. they say the yellow wire needs to go to no(the other lead on the relay)and that was n ... Read more ot the case for my setup.i had to run my ornge wire from the ignitor to that side of the relay to get it to work when the instructions say to connect the sensor harness adapter to the same wire colors which had an ornge wire in it.so that was the only part that did not make sence. but other than that it works great.
