RGB746DEP4WW Hotpoint Range - Instructions

Unplugged the appliance for safety. Removed two 1/4" screws that held the assembly in place. Carefully removed the wire guard that retains the glass shield. Unscrewed old light bulb and replaced with new part. Reversed the steps after cleaning glass cover.

I ordered a new display from the internet. I removed the panel where the display is housed, unscrewed the entire display assembly and unplugged all wires connecting it. (I made a drawing and noted colors of wires) I removed adhesive face of display and replaced it on the new display. I then screwed in the display and reconnected the wires ... remove all loose components on range top (grates, caps, disbursement / diffuser heads. Take a T-15 screw driver and unscrew each of the three screws on each burner. Have a large flat headed screwdriver ready. Lift up on the front lid of the range, it should life about 1/4 inch. There are two clips that hold it down, about 6 - 8 inches ... Read more in from either side. Press then towards the back (away from you) one at a time, while lifting on the lid.. it should pop free. WARNING: if you did not remove the torx screws first, be careful are you will now bend the gas lines running to the burner. Once loose, remove the old clip from the igniter, so that it lifts free. unplug the igniter from the electrical cable (pulls out from bottom). attach new clip to new igniter and re-attach electrical line to new igniter. close lid and re-attach all torx screws. Reassemble range top and you are complete.

Take out inside of oven.Igniter is held on with 2screws and electrical clip.take off old one and put on new one.

Disconnect power. Remove oven door, oven racks, bottom pan, drawer below the oven. unsnap igniter wire connector. Remove two screws holding the igniter in place, remove igniter.

Install igniter (placing igniter wires away from any heat producing parts) and all parts in reverse order as they were removed.

Thanksgiving was coming and I needed extra oven space. So I ordered an additional rack. Installation ... just put it in the oven. My part came the day after I ordered it.

determined that the top of the burner was melted and malformed. Repair was simple: lifted off the damaged burner and slipped the new one in place.

removed two screws and took out bottom tray and put the new one in and replaced the screws.DId it my self.

I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. First I removed the back panel and then removed the four screws that hold the display board in place.I then disconnected the wires.
I installed the new board and connected the wires.
I put the back panel on.
I installed a serge protector and pluged in the range. Job completed and it worked.

1) Turn off power at circuit breaker panel
2) Slide out Range from wall
3) Unplug Range
4) Remove back panel and unplug electrical connections to socket
5) From front of oven, remove glass cover over old oven light bulb and remove flange that holds socket and bulb

7) Place new socket into mounting flange
8) Screw mounting flange and new socket into the oven from front. Reattach electrical connections from back.
9) Screw in new light bulb from front
10) Replace existing glass cover over new light bulb and snap wire holder in place
11) Replace back panel

12) Slide range back to original position
13) Turn on power

First I tested oven sensor which checked o k. I then made a diagram of the electrical wireing to the oven control. I disconnected wireing and removed the control then with sharp knife I removed touch control pad. I placed th touch pad on the new panel and installed panel and connected wiring. Pretty easy in all. The connector from the igniter to teh power sorce didn't quite fit. Ijust cut off the new one and spliced the old one back on. Probably could have made my life easier if I took off the oven door, but it just meant I had to reach more. Works great, and other the connector, which I didn't really think would fit a 15 yea ... Very easy install of done correctly. When you pull range out,watch the gas line and don't pull it out of it's fittings. Two small Phillips head screws on the front panel low to the sides. Read more lease take my advice and make a schematic of the wire colors and the NUMBER associated with that color wire. Once that is done remove all wires and also a green ground wire that is under a screw. The new panel may NOT have the exact same configuration but the NUMBER on the terminals will be the same. Plus all color wires to the appropriate terminals and reinstall !! Great job!!
