This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.

OPENED THE LEFT SIDE REFRIGERATOR DOOR WHERE THE DEFECTIVE MECHANISM WAS. GOT UP ON THE FIRST STEP OF THE STEP STOOL,REMOVED THE PHILLIPS HEAD RETAINING SCREW FROM THE BROKEN PART.PUT THE NEW CLOSING MECHANISM IN PLACE AND RE-INSTALLED THE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW. STEPPED DOWN FROM THE STEP STOOL AND SHUT THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR.

I didn't do the repair because you sent me the wrong part.That was mislabeled. Then you want me to ship it back but didn't pay for the shipping?And that would be twelve dollars so it's going in the trash!! Very displeased

Took out the screw, removed the broken part, put new part on, put retaining screw back in.

This unit was given to me by a family member that bought it as an open boxed item. During delivery, the unit was dropped on the concrete floor from the tailgate of a truck. The screen/monitor shattered, door cables were severed and the doors' hinges were pretty banged up and rendered the refrigerator useless for a while. I was determined ... I was able to order the hinges to mount the doors, the screen from Samsung and I was able to find a parts guy to solder the cables. The fridge is cosmetically banged up but works like a charm!
