The next day I found PartSelect.com and ordered the very reasonably priced new part with optional overnight shipping. it arrived at 1:00 pm the following day. Installation was a simple reverse of the removal. The oven works great and I now keep a fire extinguisher in my kitchen.

Turned off main power at electrical breaker. With pliers, removed two screws that hold element in place. Pulled element out about 3 to 4 inches. Disconnected two wires from element. I figured that it could not be a hard repair, that these things "die" in the ordinary lifetime of an oven, so that they would not make it too hard to get to. I pulled out the oven and disconnected it; opened three screws on the back, took off the back plate, and you could easily see the two connectors to the element. They came off with ... Read more a gentle tug with pliers. Then you open the oven, and remove one screw on each side where the element is connected to the back wall of the oven. A magnetic hex socket end for the screwdriver makes it easier. Remove the old element gently through the glass wool insullation, and insert the new one with the element "legs" down. Verify the placement of the element connections in the back, and then replace the screw that hold the tab on the base of each element side to the back wall of the oven. Then, carefully reconnect the connector sleeve onto each end of the element in the back of the oven snuggly. Close the back panel with the three (the forth on the top was not tight and didn't need openening or closing)screws to the sides and bottom of the panel. Replace oven and reconnect to power, and test the element. It all took less than half an hour.

Had to drill 2 new holes 1/4 lower in oven so new coil would bolt up evenly besides that it went easily.

Removed sheet metal plate from back of oven. Disconnected two lead from existing bake element. Removed existing bake element, replaced with new one. Connected wires, replaced sheet metal.

The trick with this old oven is to access the wires from the back.

I had a friend come..He unpluged the old one and put the new one in when it arrived. All is well. Thank you for having the part that was needed. Now the over works super..

Moved stove out from wall and cabinets, then unplugged the stove. Removed the oven racks, then removed the 2 screws securing the baking (lower) element to the rear wall of the oven. Pulled the element out a few inches and disconnected it from the stove wires. Removed old element. Removed screws from rear panel to gain access to wiring ... Read more . Inserted new element and connected to wiring. Put element in place and replaced the 2 screws in rear wall. Put rear panel back in place and replaced panel screws. Plugged stove back in and moved back into place. Tested oven and it worked just fine. Parts Select did a great job of filling my order and promptly shipping it. I got it in 2 working days.

(e.g. First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires...) I did have a problem with the wire connectors. they were a little over heated and loose, so I used pliers to ajust the connection.

***Make sure power is off the stove*** then remove oven racks.
Used 1/4 inch socket to remove 2 screws holding in the heating element, then pulled the element out a couple of inches to get at the wiring. Used pliers to unplug 2 spade clips.
Reversed procedure to install new element.

I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Then pulled the element out, disconnected the two wires. Reconnected the new elements wires, replaced the screws and the element was ready to go. Worked very well.

I just followed the instructions that I found online.

Oven quit heating after less than 6 years. Checked with a volt-ohm meter and determined element was open. Ordered new element. Unit arrived in good time, replaced in about 15 minutes with no problems at all. Took longer to remove and replace oven door tha it did to install element.

First, trip the circuit breaker for your stove. Second I removed the two screws ( 1/4" nut driver makes this go quickly ) that hold the element in place. It was really easy. Removed the racks, removed the 2 quarter-inch screws with a nutdriver. Pulled the bad element out about 3-4 inches, enough to unhook the wires attached to the element with spade connectors. Unhooked the wires and removed bad element.
